Hurricane Milton

Milton isn't a name that inspires fear, I gotta say.

/pol/ should get to vote on hurricane names so people take them seriously

Hurricane Nigger Killer and Hurricane Millions Must Die has a nice ring to it, no fucking way people want to stay behind for either of those.

I'm partial to Hurricane Ok Maybe It Happened But It Wasn't Six Million, myself.

After that storm, the east coast of Florida will be devastated by Hurricane 6 Million Wasnt Enough, and the wreckage washed away by Hurricane It Didnt Happen But It Needs To Happen.

Apparently it is fate for you to be the knowledgeable kiwi in my threads as of late (along with anOminous and useful mistake)... so apologies in advance.

The drop an hour earlier in the ne eyewall had slightly less high wind speeds but I dont know what the fuck im looking at in these charts. Looking at the other drop (#3 I think).. could this be right?

Or no, that's a big difference in windspeed/both are wrong/im asking the wrong questions
The charts are just them logging down speeds and pressures to try and find an average. The storm is not consistent across time and space. Some parts of it will be more intense then others.

This might sound too basic but keep as clean as possible. Clean and treat even the smallest scratches as though your life depended on it. It might.

There will be all sorts of shit floating in the water, literally and figuratively. Sewage treatment ponds and facilities will be breached, agricultural waste and a fine mix of toxins, including decomposing critters will be everywhere.

A few drops of bleach mixed in a cup of water, hydrogen peroxide, any disinfectants you have are better than nothing.

What can be hard to find until a year or more after a storm like this is the staggering rate of serious infections leading to life altering injuries.

On another safety note, if you have hard hats, bike helmets; anything protective; wear it if you must go outside while winds are still blowing. At the very least, keep them on your kiddo’s heads.

Small children are going to be terrified of different things depending on their age and understanding. They’ll feel as helpless as we adults do.

Give them each a small, age appropriate ‘responsibility’, remind them often you’re still there and expect a lot of changed behaviour from them in the aftermath.

It’s okay to admit you’re scared or nervous to older kids. Lying to them isn’t going to cut it.
And please for the love of God, listen to your local authorities. Most of them live in the community they serve. The feds I understand being wary against (although I personally disagree but to each their own). however, if a state or local or county level representative comes to tell you something, it's because they live in the same community as you and also wish to see the betterment of it.

So the whole area its about 3 million people, assuming milton goes back to "tard rage" cat. 5 level how many casualties are we theoretically talking about here?
the robot pirates and ghosts from disney world break loose and go berserk killing the entire state and several others until the feds send in tanks

Yesterday, I made a joke post showing the hurricane going 90 degrees northbound into Tallahassee and up through the Carolinas. Well, I check the news today and

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT PURPLE LINE

NO NO NO NO NO
>the path that shows it going over Lake Okeechobee and southeast over the Atlantic

I have a family member in one of the predicted landfall counties and, despite strongly encouraging this person to leave, this person has opted to stay. The emergency management website for the county says this person is outside any evacuation or flood zone. My question is: are these websites worth a damn, or should I call this person again?

Look at this map: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/212734.shtml?inundation#contents is that person in a storm surge zone or close to it? If not, then it's pretty much just rain flooding you have to worry about not the devastating foundation scouring power of the ocean. The winds are bad, but if the dwelling is CBS or concrete and well shuttered then pretty much the worst case is the roof getting ripped off, unless a tornado hits (can't do anything about that).

Believe it or not making the clouds in a swirly shape doesn't make a hurricane
You put some water in a glass, blow in some steam and spin it around with a chopstick really fast.

For Tornadoes, you get two 2L bottles and an adapter to connect them together. Fill one bottle mostly with water then connect them together. Turn the bottle upside down and shake it around really fast. Hand to God, I've seen it before.

I would guess 250 at the very high end. Probably more like 35. It will just fuck up the already fucked up infrastructure from Helene. There’s another one coming up in a week or so too. This reminds me of the late 90s when there was a massive hurricane every few weeks.

so thinking a bit more about "the robots at disney world go nuts and kill people because the storm" there's probably a good joke to be made about old rides being able to kill people and then modern theme park rides try to go berserk but they're just a bunch of screens and can't get out

I just know that after Milton hits, things are going to get way worse and way more hostile. Milton is going to hit, the US government won't do jack shit and we'll just have a whole class of permenantly displaced people and this country is now an even worse place to live in. We're just going to keep having bad things happen to us and nothing will be done about it.

You have a theoretical degree in theoretical weather right?
civilian contract; field engineer. easiily obtained frrom workmarket.com or fieldnation.com

its prety easy to get a badge, just score a base contract. no matter how silly, and get your onsite contact to give you a pass. its good for some years. great way to get outta tickets and fuck with people

Don't know who is a biggest schizo, this guy or the forex one...

We could combine the current names and ones from /pol/, eg. Hurricane Miltons Must Die
