Hurricane Milton

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
So I woke up and found out it still hasnt hit yet but also powered down to category 4, but also is now conveniently headed away from Disney.
Yeah guess me falling asleep just put me in the shittiest timeline ever. At least the birds are ok.

Saw someone post quite some time ago to fill bathtub with water so you have a supply (i was asleep when that was posted, so couldnt post until now). Please don't do that, unless you have some way to purify the water. Standing water is a great way to get some kind of sickness, as it will get contaminated fast.
If it is your only option, make sure you have a tarp or some kind of waterproof sheeting to cover it with to prevent dust and debris from settling on the surface. And if you don't have a purification method, do not use it for drinking, keep it for cleaning or such instead.
Also, make sure your food supplies are watertight too, and stored where they can be kept dry and away from pests, as there will probably be a lot of displaced pest animals after the storm (rats, mice, insects etc) that would love to eat your food as much as you would.

Yes. But again the winds are moving northeast, not west.
Yesterday it was 20%. "20% Is NoThiNg! It WoN'T haPPeN" I also told them that 20% was statistically high. The naysayers are always wrong.
I wish they weren't lol this shit sucks.

And yeah, I know it's not moving this way. That's why I'm bringing up possible impacts on Milton. Won't he be moving the same way by the time the two meet? What'll that do to our boy? Keep him alive a little longer or wipe him out for good? Something else?

Genuinely curious, I'm really amateur at this.

And you'll be right back here with the same problems but you'll be naming natural disasters after monster trucks and Mountain Dew flavors instead of just people.
I am honestly shocked that American capitalism hasn't cashed in on naming rights licensing for storms yet.

"And tonight, Tropical Storm DORITOS LOCOS TACOS FROM TACOBELL has formed in the Atlantic.."

Milton's not likely gonna "crash" into the disturbance because the disturbance is moving faster(~15mph) east than Milton moving east (waddling at 12-13mph). They're rotating in the same direction but the quadrants that would touch are not. Could end up dissolving both as a result if they do make contact. Edit- oh shit milton's going at 16mph. Doubt they'll be able to make contact unless he hurries his ass up though.

Or at least the NHC forecasts. "The latest FanDuel Cone of Uncertainty has been released Tim, explain those odds to us!" It could be a great revenue stream.

New peak storm surge forecast has been posted by the NHC, reflecting the more southern path Milton will take. Tampa Bay area is no longer within the 10-15ft storm surge area, however everyone between Tampa Bay and Charlotte Harbor now is.

Isn't it that time of year for migrating birds to go south for the winter?
Yeah. Maybe a little early in the year. This was supposed to be some sort of "live" tracker, though. Not just a typical pattern for that time unless they typically take the same day off. For today it showed basically no movement at all in Florida. For the last 2 days, it's been straight for the storm.

Good morning Milton.

Oh shit, who said something about Milton coming up behind something else?...
(Also aside from the space weather channel video I posted yesterday, I don't watch these channels normally, it's just what the algorithm is current giving me. I can't speak to what they are saying and I'm also not sure where they get their information.)

Times like this, I look over to America across the pond, and I am so happy that I live in a geologically stable place. We get some nasty storms, and it gets super cold, but that is easy to deal with rather than Hurricane Milton coming to take your home with it.
I mean i live in bulgaria and yeah. we don't have any natural disasters here whatsoever.
If you ignore the fact that the entire country, no, peninsula gets engulfed in flames and fires so bad it'll make the napalm bombings of vietnam or tokyo look like birthday candles by comparison

The problem however, is that you live in Bulgaria.

Flooding and earthquakes are considered natural disasters in addition to wildfires. You can also get hurricanes. Hurricane Daniel tickled Bulgaria and killed four.
