Hurricane Milton

Yeah, but I live in the Rich part of Europe, where forest fires are rare.

The rest of the world is on fire, being blown away by hurricanes and dealing with earthquakes, tornadoes, and so on. Well, it gets kind of cold, so I might have to wear my warm jacket instead of my summer jacket. It is a good jacket, but it is too warm.
The rich part of Europe is being flooded with niggers and muzzies. I'd rather fuck with natural disasters, at least they end.

Anyway.

I keep seeing this stuff about "theoretical maximum" etc in regards to how bad a hurricane can be.

Anyone have any insight into why we can't possibly get a 300mph hurricane? Is it just the availability of energy, or the thickness of the atmosphere or what?

Tornado spawned by Milton about an hour ago. We're gonna have a pretty severe tornado outbreak before landfall.

Milton is suffering from the wind shear. The latest vortex messge from recon says he has 2 concentric eyes that are open to the south, which suggests he has been caught in the middle of an eyewall replacement cycle. This may weaken his winds faster than anticipated, but it won't have any real effect on his surge at this point.

Here is a map of available live cameras in the path of the hurricane https://www.cruisingearth.com/weather/tropical-weather-events/2024-milton-live-cameras/. Of the cameras this appears to be one of the best that is facing the ocean as well as being directly in the path of the hurricane. Siesta Key Beach, Siesta Key, Florida Camera

This camera just south of Sarasota is facing West towards the ocean. The camera pans back and forth on about a 2 minute loop. The water can already be seen receding ahead of the surge. If Milton continues on its predicted path it may be possible to see the eye from this camera.

The tide looks like it's gone out another foot in the last 10 minutes.

Part of what I love about the thread is autistic model talk and path talk… because a lolcow might be affected. We are staying on topic even in an off topic thread.

Hope everyone in the mandatory evacuation zone made it out and anyone waiting it out in an Orange or yellow zone is ready for an uncomfortable few weeks. May God keep and protect you.
