For a Kiwi Farms related example, look at the EFF. They're broadly good, I think people should consider donating a few bucks to them from time to time, but good god do they waste so much time and resources on shit barely related to their stated goals. And the media still doesn't go to them for quotes on topics in their wheelhouse purely out of ideological opposition.
