Shopping malls in America are a dying breed, so I wouldn't worry about that. With the upcoming(and current) economic depression, I doubt too many people will be as concerned with buying Legos or Mcdonalds like he does. Americans being dumb, fat consoomers isn't anything new, however

I have a feeling his lawyers were very aware of chris' dealings and may have stressed the problems with being massively online. It makes sense that they could recommend something similar in concept to a witness protection program, dropping off the map and not being seen anymore, and it does feel like chris has learned from that; it's night and day with how public he is irl and interacting with randoms online compared to a few years ago. he's become incredibly secretive and reserved and I would hazard to say that he has revealed no personal information since being released, outside of the schizo goddess talk.

if flutter offered a fresh start a world away from Virginia then that probably sounds real good to him. he probably thinks no one knows about him over there. whether or not that would be a good life for chris I don't know; being online is the only way he can make money and it almost seems like he relished in the attention, so him settling down seems quite hard to comprehend.

Now that Chris isn't under Barb's control anymore, he's got to find him a new sugar mommy or daddy and that just happens to be Caden and possibly Flutter.

I'm not saying they're family or friends exactly but neither one are opposed to underhanded means to get what they want and in between them working together, it looks like a very lucrative and comfortable partnership from what little we know about it.

If there were any hints of tension or doubt, it's not anything that appears to have come to light in the last 3 or 4 years since they've worked together.

There's really just nothing to go on, even speculation on any specifics or dynamics of the partnership (like if it's still even ongoing) feels like a poke in the dark.

Given Caden's past statements regarding his intentions towards Chris, it seems unlikely that he'd be doing anything to drop him. Chris is basically paying for the Big Island house, through rent and selling crap.

There is one giant sword that could potentially be held over Chris' head: do as Caden says, or become homeless. Chris won't do anything that might risk his ability to sit on his ass and go along with the status quo, since that would mean having to grow up, get a job, a place of his own, etc., so whatever Caden says to do, he does.

Caden's a massive piece of shit, and if he got run over by a bus tomorrow the world would be better off for it. My suspicion is that he's essentially keeping Chris in indentured servitude, but that's only a suspicion at this point.

Part of me knows that Chris is notorious for not learning from his mistakes but part of me also knows that Chris has become more distrusting - for example, he rebuffed Sarah and Steve. But then again, he trusted Janke.

So was Bob, that's how he pulled it off. He very cleverly navigated the rules to get Chris certified tarded as a child while he was still under Bob's SSDI coverage, then grandfathered in as an adult. If he hadn't done that, Chris would have been relegated to the dire poverty that is living on SSI.

The first is insurance coverage, the second is welfare and you have to be truly direly impoverished to qualify. It's Bob's work history that allowed this, since Chris has no real work history of his own. So Chris not only gets more money than the average disabled adult with no work history would get, but also doesn't need to live in dire poverty to keep getting it.

Arguably, Chris would have been better off without getting a lifetime free ride, but I can hardly blame Bob, an ailing man entering the final chapter of his life, for doing everything within his power to provide for after he died, even if it was for a failson who turned out a rapist.
