Was Hurricane Milton a nothing burger?

The "nothing ever happens" niggers and "I knew it was hype all along" faggots deserve to have horrific physical violence inflicted on them.

Milton went from a tropical storm to a category 5, sub 900mbar hurricane, with sustained 165mph winds, gusts up to 200mph, pushing the theoretical limit of what is possible for a storm to sustain, within 16 hours. It dropped to a Category 4 before tripling the size of its eye and intensifying back into a category 5. It wasn't until the NOAA release at 09:00 that Milton was officially downgraded to a Category 4, which, by the way, is a very, very strong storm still worth evacuating for. It wasn't until the NOAA release at 18:00 local time that Milton was officially downgraded to a category 3, what most Floridians would put under "ride it out" status.

If you think that this entire thing was overblown and people should've just nutted up and stayed put, you are, in effect, endorsing that people need to either not move out of the way for any storm whatsoever, or you are advocating that people wait until an hour and a fucking half before landfall to make a decision on whether or not to evacuate. Get fucked, eat shit, and kill yourself.

Give me my fucking tophats, I don't care. I've seen enough carnage from Helene, which hit Florida as "only" a category 4 and ended up over North Carolina as "only" a post-tropical depression. Be fucking happy for once in your goddamn lives that we don't have to spend months digging dead kids out of collapsed buildings.

I'm not going to give you a tophat, because I completely get where you're coming from. But the problem is that the commoditization of news means that it's in the presses interest to over-inflate the seriousness of these events. This results in probably millions or even billions of dollars being spent on preparations that are at best, an ineffectual waste of money, and at worst obstructive. Purely to avoid political fallout if they miss the boat.

Just saying "hurf durf nuthin ever happens" is dumb, but asking questions about why the media and governments stir up this level of panic is totally valid. The media made out like this was a world ending, climate change affirming, Florida drowning event. It wasn't. They got it wrong, again. Why do they keep doing that, and why should we continue to believe them in future?

My own opinion is that they haven't got a fucking clue as to what makes a dangerous storm. So instead of all shitting our pants every time one comes, we should instead be educating sensibly and calmly, and introducing building code that mandates sensible suggestions like yours of safe-rooms. We should also accept that shit, tragically, happens.

If I tell you that there's a pretty good chance that a gang of the biggest, blackest dudes ever are going to break into your house tonight and fuck your asshole into shreds, what's your response to that? Are you gonna sit there and watch TV while eating your microwave dinner on the couch? Or are you gonna stay strapped and listen for the sound of glass breaking?

When the National Hurricane Center says there's a pretty good chance that Milton is gonna flood your house to 15 feet deep and you're gonna drown in your attic, what's your response to that? Bugging the fuck out of there is absolutely the right call, especially given that most of the disaster response crews in the country are tied up in North Carolina right now.

Did you type out this entire false equivalency purely just to inject a racist commentary? Since when is a Hurricane analagous to marauding gangs of dudes with intent to fuck your ass? Hurricanes have no intent. It's the difference between preparing for the definite and the indefinite

Imagine being upset the Hurricane didn't cause more damage and the locals knew better about what was happening than the National Weather people did.

Guys, Meteorologists, are at least half journos, which makes them rating and advertiser driven scum.

"A gazibillion people didn't die immediately to a cat 5 hurricane that lasted for 3 days and grounded the entirety of florida, so obviously nothing happened at all"
Six people died and you had some flooding and wind damage off of "The theoretically limit of what the Gulf of Mexico was capable of producing."

Nothing happened. Kill yourself.

A cat 3 nothing burger. Great job on the hype as always MSM
You're not helping. Take a look at the damage given from primary and secondary sources before mouthing off like that. Not everybody was lucky enough to just lose power or a fence.

I swear to God, where is this "NWO controlling the weather" coming from? No better than the climate change fanatics.

Tell that to North Carolina that got hit with less.
NC got hit with less but only after it had its own abnormal weather in the week before which left the ground saturated and unable to absorb the water resulting in flooding.

It was a rare mix of conditions. Had there just been rain and no hurricane they would have been fine. Had there been rain but no follow up hurricane they would have been fine.

Imagine being mad this wasn't an humanitarian disaster with thousands of deaths.

How fucking stupid are you? No one's mad that more people didn't die and there wasn't more damage. People are just pointing out the coverage and threat of the storm we were told about was not at all what actually happened, and that this is a frequent occurrence with these storms which is largely why many Floridans, myself included, don't really freak out about them, because for every Ivan we get, we get 20 storms like this where, nothing happens.

If anyone could predict the cat 5 hurricane would lose half of its strength on the last couple of hours before hitting land that person should go to the lottery next.
This is how I know you're a fucking retard who has no idea what they're talking about.

Hurricanes draw their strength from the warm waters they travel through. Its obvious they would lose strength in the hours before hitting land because the water gets more and more shallow and thus they have less fuel. Its the reason the moment they hit land they almost always immediately weaken.

That's how these storms work. Its not a matter of luck.

Can a certified weather autist shed some light on if there's another storm coming behind Milton? I've had my sister and mother tell me this, but I refuse to believe them because they probably got their news from social media.
