Are people unable to read handwriting anymore?

Do I just have ugly handwriting, or are people now so accustomed to reading typed fonts that they've lost their ability to read handwritten notes? Lately, I've had several people be completely unable to comprehend my handwriting even after I made a concerted effort to use nice block letters only. It's not just zoomies either, but people old enough to have learned cursive at school.

Keep in mind people used to be able to read shit like this:

Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon?

I don't know, lately I've been going to Buffalo Wild Wings and donating to their bullshit because you can get 24 wings for $15 if you donate which is pretty good but they give you a little "I'm inspired to donate because _____" paper to fill out and they stick it on the wall and I've just been filling them with quotes from Blood Meridian to fuck with the staff and I write like Ralph Steadman but they seem to be able to read it just fine, so either your handwriting is worse than Ralph Steadman's or you're dealing with actual retards.

People have never been able to read cursive properly, its a nightmare of letters that make no sense and everyone writes differently. People with brains used italicized handwriting, no one has any problem reading my handwriting.

My handwriting is optimized towards writing fast while removing unnecessary motions whenever possible, all while not being steno. E.g. reducing mm to a slightly wiggly line and similar. It sometimes requires context to reconstruct some words, of course, therefore by design people often are unable to read it, which is nice if its about notes that I don't want others to read. I do put a bit of effort into making notes for others, or anything that isn't personal notes really, a bit more legible though.
But at least it isn't Russian cursive...

Cursive's largely fallen by the wayside as it's an antiquated skill for modern day concerns, and with that goes the ability to read it. Really the main issue with cursive's decline is less being able to write it since it really isn't that useful today and more the stuff that was written in it in the past.

I can't, what does it say?
It's just in french. I can read the letters but I don't speak french.

It's probably not perfect but I still can't speak French. So google translate gives you...

Considering that in Bongland they actually let the kids use text speak in their English exams, I'd say that it's a mix of only reading phone fonts and never picking up a pen themselves to write.

Dox writing, let's be the judge. I like cursive and fancy handwriting.

Top is what I want to write like, bottom is how I write when I need it to be super duper maximally legible.
your handwriting is like a retarded toddler scrawling with a tight-fisted carrot

the lack of logic, reasoning, and tact with not only your letter strokes but also the spacing and unwillingness to adhere to your own letter styles just makes me want to disregard anything you ever say

I would be really surprised if you are not physically or mentally retarded if you think your handwriting is acceptable or legible to anyone but you

It's very ugly, but even the top version is perfectly legible. What's interesting to me is that I had to examine the top block almost exactly how I read cursive lmao
