Not a year, forever. If he's ever on his own he will drink and it probably won't matter how long he was sober before. Again, normal alcoholics usually can't beat their condition and relapse even after rehab, so Josh has zero chance of making it on his own.

I don't see the behavior being fake, there's no motive for that and there's no way a regarded kid could stay in character while blackout drunk all the time. The thing he keeps saying about people after him with knives is really weird though. He was saying it in the Atlantic City clips too, I don't get what's up with that. The only things I can figure is either trolls are somehow messaging him that or he is legit going schizo. I guess I lean toward the latter which makes this situation even sadder than it already is.
