It's a given that no-one makes so many enemies in a neoliberal environment like US publishing and survives without someone sponsoring the whole crusade. See, I had initially thought that as well, because the whole liberal version of Rush Limbaugh on radio thing was indeed a nascent area when he made the switch. But the fact that he's kept it up for 2+ decades at this point doesn't really scream "grifter" to me. If so, I would think he'd have made the switch back when DW, Crowder, etc. all came up. I think that's kinda the problem with the online right-wing presence. It's too fractured to build an actual presence. Everyone seems to branch out on their own, and since everyone who doesn't preach the leftist gospel is constantly demonetized, cancelled, or outright banned, they all have their own grift/monetizing scheme, usually by a monthly subscription setup and shilling some sort of coffee/gun/supplements, etc. Larger ones like DW or PraegerU have it better, but it still doesn't compare to the resources that the entire left wing apparatus has.

On the other hand, the right does seem to have "An enemy of my enemy is my friend" mentality too. They accepted Candoxx Owens when the left kicked her out, and I honestly think that Ana Kasperian would probably be welcomed by the right. If someone maintains the same beliefs but can't any longer sanction the behavior of the "side" they were on, there's a lot more tolerance for that. When someone just apparently completely abandons their previous positions and nothing but personal advantage explains it, that's backstabbing behavior.
