woot! page 300. look for a new lolcow thread in a minute about chairman mao's kids @ RefuseFascism.orgNobody here cares about your faux-intellectual two-spirit blah-blah, Toots. Certainly no one wants to read through paragraphs of you trying to sound smart by throwing around buzzwords. I'm just saying it doesn't take a lot of brainpower to not use the same insults over and over and over and over and over and over again, like a parrot whose only companion in its formative years was a stuttery record player.
But your brainpower is negligible, so I'm not surprised you resort to falling back on the same old crap when you get all hot and bothered by our responses to you.
lol. i love when mean, stupid people try to call me stupid. why should i waste time thinking in response to somebody like you when i can apply my negligible brain power in constructive conversations like this with nice people?
I so appreciate everyone who spoke and everyone who tuned in, and I'm left with a lot of questions. It was a fantastic call to action that left us completely hanging in terms of generally accessible options for what to actually do.
Okay, starting conversations and marching and being visible and expanding the movement are all really important, but if our ultimate goal is policy change, those things won't get us all the way there. Since the electoral college has made its decision for Trump, HOW do we actually unseat him from power? And once that's done, WHO do we think should be elected and how would that process work, seeing as what we're trying to do seems to be more or less unprecedented?
WHAT is our ultimate goal?
Without a unified goal, there seems to be no point in getting people riled up to do good work. People will lose momentum and we will fail if we don't know what the next steps we're working towards will be.

RefuseFascism.org This is the ultimate goal. Its a very different way of looking at things because it is "outside" the normal channels. You can into it the plan more deeply at refusefascism.org. Wrangle with it. Write to us about it on the website. These are important questions and all of us have a responsibility to get into them.

דארו פירס I've read the plan over several times on your website, but I didn't see anything more concrete than what was discussed in the broadcasted meeting. What I'm understanding from this quote, and please correct me if I'm misunderstanding, is that the ultimate goal is to get people to march en masse.
This is a fantastic tool that's been used historically to catalyze change, but I fear it's not as '"outside the normal channels" as you claim, or as we need. While democrats were playing the game the best way we knew how during the election season, Trump made up a new game, which worked for him and ultimately--and unfairly--stole him the election. How do we counteract this if we're still playing the old game?
And that still leaves my other questions unanswered--what happens after we march? Even when we march, people will pay attention, but that's still not going to create effective policy change to deconstruct the defective electoral college and oust Trump and Pence from the seats of power. What "conditions" are you referring to, where T/P's fascist regime would be overthrown? In the most literal sense, who would be doing the overthrowing? **If we don't have a specific idea of what life will look like after we march, what, exactly, are we marching for?**

Tommie Jay Wasserberg ultra left, ultra right, all are stupid, all want to fight. do what's right. spread the light. bring some reason, not violence into the holiday season.
this organization is a front for the revolutionary communist party. you are being duped.

דארו פירס We could sure as hell use a socialist movement in the states--we're no longer mired in the cold war, communism is only a threat to those who hoard billions of dollars and leave the rest of us stressing how to pay rent each month.

Tommie Jay Wasserberg there has been a social democratic movement in the united states straight along. these people are maoist and not to be trusted. the social democrats and log cabin republicans, like bernie sanders who are actually representing us and not the corporations are who we want to support. (i'm hard pressed to think of a righteous repukelican right now.

trump is just the president, congress shapes the laws. the idea of putting 10's of millions of people into the streets to create a political crisis so grave that the "trump regime can't take power" that's stupid commie talk. let's say they actually succeed. then what?

דארו פירס Well that's exactly my question--whats next? So let's assume that we do succeed, well what happens after that? I don't agree that mass organizing is "stupid commie talk," as you say, but I think that organizing without a clear and succinct path forward is completely pointless, and I'm 100% disappointed by the complete dismissal of my questions by the leadership in favor of repeating general ideas I've already heard. It DOES make one a bit suspicious, I'll give you that.

דארו פירס mass organizing isn't what i'm calling stupid commie talk. all the fear mongering and calls to sedition are the stupid commie talk

דארו פירס I think we should be afraid. What you see as fear mongering I see as simply being realistic. And I think it does make sense to refuse to be governed by a body that's as bigoted, racist, homophobic, etc. as the one Trump has assembled.

Tommie Jay Wasserberg the bernie or bust people stayed organized. Dani Atlanta , one of the transgender advocates is with a group bracing her state senator this morning. that's how it's done. participate in the legislative process. screaming slogans at passing cars and empty buildings just makes people more frustrated, instilling fear and loathing in them and not really doing anything constructive.

דארו פירס Definitely don't disagree with any of that; disorganized marching isn't their goal, though, but it seems they haven't thought at all past that. And I agree that there are also specific strategies that create effective change, and you listed several important ones--and that's exactly an answer I'm looking for, what else can we do? Because marching, while I believe it important, is only a small fraction of what must be done.

Tommie Jay Wasserberg their tucson organization is totally insane, posting memes that say "kill your local rapist" and then attacking anybody who questions the morality of vigilante justice and extrajudicial executions as a counter-revolutionary, class enemy and rapist enabler. nothing but pure little red book shit from chairman mao.
it's neo-liberal fascism and my friend and mentor , Jenny Kastner, thinks killary's organization is behind it, hoping to get the alt right and neo-liberal fascists to duke it out in the streets so they can declare martial law and install the "mad cunt", as Stuart Meldrum and the scottish lemon party call her.
you youngsters with the right motivation need to seek out the people like jenny, stuart, myself and Dani Atlanta, who i mentioned earlier, in your hometown and back their plays. we learned in chicago, after the summer of shove , the days of rage and the riot in the park because of sly stone cancelling the free gig mayor daley arranged as a peace offering from the two summers before, that the tree bears better fruit when you work with city hall to grow it.

Marilyn Covarrubias I am not a communist but I agree that he should not be president" he is not looking out for all the people just his few, and we know who they are" I want to protect all people from hatered and racisim, because we all, every color is hurt by that kind of thinking"

Tommie Jay Wasserberg he will be inaugurated and if he is to be removed, it must be by the constitutional impeachment process. armed insurrection is madness. the american way is to peaceably assemble to air your grievances and sit down with your legislators to enact or overturn the laws you are seeking to address. what these people are trying to incite is a maoist revolution.
actually, i'm about to unblock everybody now that null has restored my ratings and PM privileges, loser.Awww, he's growing up and discovering blocking! Soon, going by everything he says, this thread will just be him ranting to himself. It will be a wonderland.
