He regrets he abused drugs, his wife and child only because it resulted in them leaving him all by his lonesome. He has no remorse because he has not changed at all. He just wishes his actions didn’t have consequences.

(A good example: Ralph reduced his drinking and Xanax use enough to be coherent in the afternoons for a month. The fact that this didn’t result in Pantsu returning to him asap made him rage, he’s still seething about it and now it’s her fault he’s using again because she didn’t support him after that one sorta kinda sober month. I used to frequent several drug forums in my late teens and one of the recurring stories with Xanax was people taking it forgetting they took it redosing then waking up in jail or at some random persons house the next day in serious trouble. Just a completely moronic drug to abuse.
