I remember how it was fixed here (my county) damn near a decade ago, not a ban, that is something far too easy to rile up pitty moms over. I pushed and pushed until they changed a county ordinance requiring the owner to have a certain type of homeowners insurance (or landlord), it's not really a ban owner can afford insurance for say a golden lab, but not a pit bull.
