I don't normally like engaging with this topic, but I'm bored today and want to give my unnecessary opinion. Before I start complaining, I still love this site and want to see it grow. I'm mostly a lurker, or off topic poster, so I just sort of hang back. I do feel that some areas of the site has been noticeably less fun since the gender wars began in full swing. It's been trending vitriolic since #DKF. Frankly, the culture needs to come to a head and reach a point of mutual respect or it's going to segment further into tribalism.
I don't blame
@Lidl Drip and friends (tagging you for etiquette, not to start a fight, I do want your perspective) for it entirely, or even mostly. I can't say I agree with her on many things, I am a scrote after all, but I think she is right about the cultural problems the site and dissident culture in general has/had. The posts in female cow threads discussing the merits of fucking them have never provided anything of value to the discussion. A&N has always been extremely vitriolic to women, much of dissident culture has been for as long as I've been around it. I have mostly avoided A&N for this reason. Even as a man, it's just annoying, pathetic and un-fun to read. I don't think I've ever engaged in that, and if I did, I'm sorry. Good communities, even irreverent asshole ones, depend on mutual respect. Either way, it doesn't change the unavoidable fact that "we" men created this environment to begin with.
I've read the man-hate thread from time to time. Mostly it annoys me, and I see it as similarly childish as the A&N people. That's fine, I'm not the target audience, so I don't give my opinion on it there. Sometimes it has some really good points, and I can't argue with their statistics. My impression is more so that as unpleasant as it can be, it's very sad that as a 'royal we' to the entire male gender, we've caused a lot of harm to a lot of people. I love the women in my life, and I wouldn't with the things you all talk about on anyone.
I don't enjoy reading about all men being rape apes, and yeah, it does 'hurt my feelings' if you want to put it that way. Same way 'I wouldn't even rape them' has to be upsetting to read. Nobody enjoys getting indirectly accused of being a part of a group that they aren't just because of gender. It's perfectly good and at home in the man hate thread that I have to willingly go read. Which I do willingly read, silently, because sometimes reading stuff you disagree with is good for you. I don't know the man-hate-thread posters, and they don't know me, so I don't take it personally. The people who do take it personally just prove their point. I'm not even going to tag the annoying men because they are already here anyways, and I can't remember names too well. Reading people being angry isn't fun to me, regardless of what side they are on.
It gets to be really un-fun when it breaches into, say, the most recent example of the last several chains of DM Leaks. I just want to jovially laugh at idiots together, not debate if enough men are rapists to say that all men are rapists, if onlyfans is destroying the west, if women being creepy too sometimes justifies men being creepy, or whatever the topic of the day is. A creepy wierdo posted erotica about wanting to fuck his mom, that should be hysterical to everyone, not political fodder to argue if all men are rapists or not. The world is less fun when a home-grown degenerate posting literal motherfucking erotica is political instead of just pure funny.
I want to ask, sincerely, to everyone here mad at each other, what can / has to change before we can just be funny about a motherfucker?
