What the fuck?
there's entire categories of business that exist to take advantage of this by not cooking the food. papa murphys is a pizza joint that just sells you pre-made uncooked pizzas for you to cook. they take ebt.

it also serves the purpose of incentivizing the frozen food section at supermarkets because most of them have a functional deli/bakery easily capable of producing readily available food for sale that generally never gets used beyond decorating cupcakes because a third of their customers are incapable of buying fresh food with their payment method

I get it, even if I don't approve. I'd have to say live smarter. Get a deep freeze. Make a big batch. Divvy it up. Save money, eat better. Sometimes its more work, but I tend to think its worth it. My wallet thinks so, too.
Yeah this is what I was going to suggest and it's what I do. Anytime I make soup, curry, or chili, I put extra servings in the freezer.
Pretty much all canned chili on the market is loaded with sugar and preservatives and are lower quality than what you'll make at home.
Not sure how people forget you can freeze a lot of things (including staples like butter, or eggs in ice cube trays) to save money and make sure your lazy/quick meals are still healthy and cheap.

Absolute total meltdown from the Democrats-- white ones, especially.

It would be the biggest "mask off" moment of all time.
I'm seeing a lot of hard Rs getting dropped on X if that happens.
Arrest or sue the DAs who refuse to prosecute under civil rights violations.

This is how they destroyed the Klan. If the local police and DAs refused to prosecute them for attacking black people, it was a violation of those black people's civil rights.

If you're having to deal with a bunch of ferals chimping out because the DA and Police will not punish them for crime, your civil rights are being violated. There is precedent for this.
That requires a DOJ that's on board with slapping this shit down.
Probably just commiserating on what a retard Kamala is. As I recall, Obama did NOT want to hand her the candidacy but wanted an open nomination.
Even more proof that Harris stole that nomination. Even if there is a civil war in the DNC Harris pissed off a lot of people by doing this and they're retaliating by depriving her of skilled staffers.
There's a lot of ways to fuck with neglected infrastructure and we've been neglecting it for decades at this point.
What if the real threat here is Alejandro Mayorkas? The DHS has been gaining a lot of sketchy power the past 4 years.
Mayorkas is the man ultimately in charge of the Secret Service and is probably the real man behind Trump's first assassination attempt.

Even as a libertarian that wants to cut every Federal program Milei-style, I think these are the very last things that need to go, along with the National Parks system.

There's a lot more ISRAEL concerning ISRAEL funds that should ISRAEL stop being stolen from Americans first.
I would be completely against the ending of the National Park Service, that may be the only thing worthwhile the Fed Gov has ever done and does now. Those protected lands would be taken and raped by foreign (and local) greed immediately. Im happy with ending and cutting everything else.

Hunting should be allowed in the NP however to properly manage wildlife.

Powerleveling -- if my family hadn't been on SNAP when I was a child, I wouldn't have been eating.

I cannot with conscious say that I support revamping or dismantling that program. I didn't go hungry as a child because of that program.

What foods should be SNAP-eligible is a matter of debate. What people decide to purchase using SNAP is a matter of individual choice.

Our family made the decision to eat as healthy as possible. I wouldn't have been eating fruits or vegetables as a child had this program not existed.

I think SNAP, like the foster system and Social Security, are things that have to exist. Can they be improved? Yeah.
I wouldn't mind Snap and WIC adding bonuses to encourage fresh, whole, local foods especially since poor people tend to also have worse health, likely related to diet.

In Virginia for example there's a program which gives points for buying food from local farmers markets. If that includes meat, eggs, and dairy as well that is very good as these are good protein sources (especially for children) and have high value nutrients like b12 and choline.

Fuck big food though, ultra processed shit and sugary drinks should not be available to buy with SNAP, especially with the prevalence of childhood obesity and fatty liver.

You also can't buy meat on WIC and iirc milk is restricted to low fat only when whole milk is healthier. Milk has fat soluble vitamins like Vitamin D which help you absorb the calcium from the dairy. Skim milk has the fat removed which means if the vitamin D is still there you have a much harder time absorbing it, and as a consequence a harder time absorbing the calcium as well.

And pregnant women and children are those with the highest need for high quality nutrition, including animal foods like meat, due to growing a new human or developing into an adult. Lack of access to animal foods correlates with stunted growth, cognitive development delays and malnutrition. This may seem like a third world problem but if people are not able to access them when poor it becomes a US problem as well. If anything meat, eggs, and whole fat dairy, as well fresh fruit and vegetables should be emphasized in both programs.

Also that income supports businesses, helping them stay around and keeping the local economy relatively healthy.

Trump is now up to 59.7% on polymarket
EZ money for anybody who wants to bet on printer going BRRR, what're you fuckers waiting for

This was so odd. I understood all the Chuck Norris stuff and that was funny, but putting bacon in literally everything was an awful cultural moment in the US. I saw dudes making bacon cocktails. It wasn't right.
I've had a bacon cocktail and I'm not the least bit sorry

California anecdote: I've seen people wearing maga hats around in public and at the gym recently. The occasional yard sign and bumper sticker are one thing but this is a level of support and openness that wasn't even around in 2020. Feels weirdly optimistic.

SNAP eligibility has been a horrid racket for years. I was an extreme budgeter in college a decade ago and I was on it and explicitly remember the #25 bags of oatmeal and lentils I'd buy weren't covered, yet shit like Pepsi and Doritos were. It was infuriating.
