I've got some degree of sympathy left for him but that does come with a whole lot of sarcastic "well what the fuck did you think was gonna happen Ethan?".

It's not like Hasan has always been a nice and understanding guy who you later discover is actually a piece of shit. This is literally his modus operandi.
