Weightlifting for Kiwis - Discussion and support regarding the art of swole

Honestly just doing it for the love of the game mostly, but my workout recently is structured to retain muscle mass as I cut. When me and my girlfriend started our relationship together I was 225. Just lifting like nuts and eating whatever I could shove into my mouth. It was fun as hell, but caused some complications like being a fatty. I decided to cut weight so that I could look good for her and I. So far it's been pretty slow cut which is good I'm sitting at 200. Goal is to be 190.
On a related note, I am/was a bit of a fatty, and trying to get PRs in barbell lifts made me wanna bulk even harder (when by any objective measure I should have cut). So I switched over to calisthenics for most of my "weight training" since having a good strength:bodyweight ratio is baked into it.

I would be lying if i said the following didnt play a part in my decision:
1. pullups and dips are badass
2. the sum total of my calisthenics equipment costs less than 3 months of gym membership
3. skill-type movements like skin the cats and front levers are fun

>take one (1) week off
>bench is down 5lbs

How do you stop the bar from lifting your dick and balls during shrugs? Or do I just count the extra weight?

I'm currently following a program to increase my squat (since it's my worst lift) and I've seen some nice progress but GODDAMN, I hate it so much some days.. There's quite a lot of sessions with a lot of high reps and it makes me want to kill myself at times. So please give me your funnest exercises and/or routines that I can sprinkle in every now and then to regain some life force. Preferably upper body (I love bench press but would be nice to mix it up a bit).

Big Lenny died.

Big Lenny seemed perfectly healthy, did he die in a hurricane or something?
Also I cant remember where I read it but I think raw egg shells have some minor health benefits, just nobody in their right mind is going to eat them. I think that was top ten one of the most disgusting things I've seen.

Big Lenny died? That sucks.

*An aside note, I never did understand when people who have shitty genetics abuse the fuck out of steroids. You aren't going to become a fitness pro without elite genetics, so you're just killing yourself for no benefit. Not just Lenny, but the same goes for people like Jerry Ward and Eric Kanevsky. They have just awful insertions, so they'll never look amazing. The only way they'll look big is if they abuse the ever living fuck out of PEDs and also allow themselves to get fat. Why take 3 g of test a week just to get bigger if there's no end game?

*does not apply to people who just want to get stronger or perform better in a sport

It’s skittle time

It is hilarious reading stories about modern kids doing hardcore cycles without exercising. Sam Sulek and the Tren Twins have an army of zoomers taking trenbolone and oxymetholone without exercising, dieting, or doing proper post cycles. I don't get tired of watching retarded kids destroy their liver for literally nothing.

If you need steroids to sit around and play video games, maybe try turinabol? I've heard it helps with reaction times.

I have quite a problem annnd I need advice.
Everytime I start weightlifting again, I feel SO ungodly aggressive and unstable afterward. Just outright horniness and aggression and then depression because I don't hang out with anyone.

Once I stop doing it, I feel fine. I feel stable. I love working out though. I hate how unstable I feel, it's miserable. I do not know how to deal with the rage.
I'm female, just for reference.

Welcome to how men feel all the time. Read up on mindfulness, emotional regulation and distress tolerance. Don't stop bettering yourself just because it necessitates bettering yourself.

Just listen to phonk music and wear a big hoodie.
But really, you get used to being more energetic over time. You get the hang of working out around a schedule that allows you to continue your regular activities.

I was looking at dumbbells online to order and I cannot believe how expensive these can get. I'd really rather not spend money on an expensive one and then it turns out to be over-priced trash. How should I start out? I just want 5 or 10 pound ones to start out with. I'd like it if they were adjustable so I can add more weight later, but I guess if that's a major part of the price it can be ignored.

Any recommendations that come to mind from the more seasoned weightlifting kiwis?

EDIT: actually, maybe pushups are a better first step anyway...?

I did something similar - started buying 10, and 15 pound dumbbells to start. Then I ran into the same issue - they are fucking expensive. So I found an adjustable dumbbell set on amazon for a reasonable price. Now I can go up to 50 pounds on each arm and adjust to pretty much any weight I need.

What I did during my time garage training was take one of the cinderblocks I had and do a controlled breaking of it into separate pieces, each of them weighed anywhere between 3-7lbs. Would increment on curls by adding one of the pieces into a suitcase or weighted pushups by putting one of them into a backpack.
Works perfect for simply having stuff to place into a bag. Likely isn't as comprehensive as everything you can get from a dumbbell, but spamming curls and weighted pushups does much good on its own.
