Careercow Donald J Trump - 45th/47th President of the USA, convicted felon, Epstein bro, Putin simp, serial liar, sore loser, cheat and the Chris-Chan of Presidents. THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL DEBATE THREAD.

And there's an entire thread here dedicated to lauding this man as the savior of the free world. Jesus. H. Christ. The look on people's faces as he rambles. I honestly think this is the first time I've ever seen an audience in real time make the same faces I do internally while hearing this man regurgitate one of his 3 memorized scripts in response to literally any question. (J6th script, Border and Economy Script, Harris Bad script)

At this point, listening to him drone on like this repeatedly over the last few days, I'm pretty sure he's given up standard election processes. He's just waiting for Nov 6th to start his real push for the office. All his pawns are in place in swing states as best as he could get them. The board is set. His MAGA worshipers are angry and terrified, he knows which buttons to push and when to get them into action again. The moment the vote counts start to go against him on the 5th, he'll get on Truth Social and make up some more bullshit like he did in 2020. Remember the zombies banging on election office doors after the polls closed? "Stop Counting!" if Trump was ahead or "Don't Stop Counting!" if he wasn't?

This man isn't trying to win an election. He doesn't need to. He knows somewhere in the country, someone will fuck up some administrative process somewhere and that will be 2024's evidence of "Widespread Voter Fraud". We'll have to watch this shit play out all over again because Stacy at the election office in some random county in WI put a box of ballots on Table A instead of Table B by mistake. Some assclown on Twitter will cut the CCTV footage off before Stacy moves them back to Table B and call it a box of ballots from the Haitian illegals or some shit and we'll be off to the races.
Trump very, very rarely interacts with normal people. All his interviewers are friendly, his “Front Row Joes” follow him around the country, he only dines at Trump restaurants, he has his own plane, fleet of vehicles, and security, and, during his free time, he rarely leaves the confines of one of his properties. The town hall for Univision was an exceedingly rare example of Trump being forced to talk to everyday people who weren’t there to bathe his balls. It did not go well for him. I am glad to finally see people starting to hold him accountable to his face for his rambling, garbage ideas and felonious acts. However, I don’t think it will last long - after the past few days, I think his managers are going to be a lot more careful about who he talks to.

Trump will not win the popular vote. The numbers just aren’t there for him; a Republican president has not won the popular vote since 2004. The only way he can win is the same way he won in 2016: an electoral college technicality. That’s what his legal team is prepared for. The count this year will be hellish, especially in Pennsylvania. All of the networks will be extremely careful not to call a swing state unless they are absolutely sure, so buckle up.

Not saying it can't or won't happen but a lot of pollsters are very obviously putting their finger on the scale because they're terrified another 2016 will happen and permanently ruin their credibility.

Also, even despite that-
In 2016, polls predicted Trump would get 41% of the vote. He got 46%.
In 2020, polls predicted Trump would get 43% of the vote. He got 46%.
This year, polls are predicting Trump will get 46% of the vote.
The pollsters have also changed their polling methods to lean more bible thumping boomer. That is why 2022 was so off in the opposite direction

If the Republicans had a competent candidate they would absolutely bulldozer Kamala at this point, especially after The Times fiasco and then the trainwreck that'll likely be Joe Rogan (if she does it). Instead they have Donny who somehow manages to screw up every advantage he gets by coming off as an old man yelling at clouds.

He thinks Biden would be easier to beat.
Biden would have. I honestly believe had Biden stayed in it, Trump would have won by a landslide and he wouldn't have had to do much of any campaigning at all after that first debate. Him dropping out fucked up the entire plan for Trump from top to bottom and he's been off his rocker ever since. He's having to work for it and he's not having a good time at all.

What Times fiasco?

That's not really a fiasco though
Yeah, it might be a controversy, but a fiasco would be like messing up the interview. The Grey Lady has declined in recent times and mightn't be the force it once was. Perhaps that's why it didn't make the cut for an interview.

Perhaps missing the Alfred E. Smith dinner which Trump is addressing now is a mistake. It's a notable Catholic and electoral event, but has avoided egregious partisanship. If Harris had come, Trump could well have made a fool of himself, and the risk of Harris seeming a bit indifferent to Catholics might be avoided.

I personally think a lot of media owners might like the impunity Trump could give them or their wealthy patrons. Hence they mightn't be as harsh on Trump in his decline as they were on Biden. Maybe.

I'm late to this observation but Trump looks fucking awful. The last few years have really siphoned out of him whatever malevolent life force was keeping him going. If he weren't an avatar of spite and pure id I'd almost pity him.
He never had malevolent life force. He would be pitiable if he were a good guy who became senile. But he's a dyed-in-the-wool asshole who became senile. I had a friend who wouldn't vote for Hillary in the 2016 election because "She's a criminal!" Fast forward to 2024 and compare a private email server to a long list of felony indictments. (And at least my friend didn't vote for Trump in 2016. He voted for a long-shot third-party candidate.)

Just a thought that crossed my mind; the pollsters have repeatedly underpolled Trump and one argument has been made some people were afraid to admit they were going to vote for him. I wonder if there is now a flip where perhaps there are men who are afraid to admit they are voting for a woman and it’s Kamala being underestimated now. Just a thought, not a solid argument or anything.

One rumor I heard was women were afraid to admit they're voting for Harris.

Me? My guess is that, as we saw in the past 3 elections, polling methods are just outdated

Another large X factor is a lot of people are scared of being on the receiving end of violence.

2016 the silent majority was people embarrassed to admit they were voting for Trump. 2024 the silent majority is people who don't want someone in a pickup truck with 17 flags on it following them home.
