Do You Hate Google With Every Fibre of Your Being?

I love that even firefox's mobile app even allows adblock.

No, I don't hate Google. At most I feel a fleeting nostalgia that they are now joining Boeing, IBM and Intel as a zombie company full of pajeets, lawyers and and a dusty trophy case of past achievements. But mostly, I don't care. I am not going to use their manure products full of creepy ads.

I personally have been exposed to the security, privacy and energy use nightmare that is Google Tag Manager, so yes, I want all Google employees to be drawn, quartered and televised for international amusement. The V3 manifest making it impossible to block ads and only hide them strengthens my resolve to ride on one of the horses myself.

Couple this with how they're implementing it into military hardware like the drone that killed its operator because its goal was to "achieve points" but because its operator would deny some potential targets it came to the conclusion that it can achieve more points if it wasn't denied targets so it went back to missile strike the operator. Granted that was in a sim
It wasn't even a simulation. It was just a thought experiment dreamt up by some midwit who watched and believed all of the same sci-fi B-movies that you have watched and still believe. (archived source)

I don't hate them, I just want these oligarchs to face proper justice.

Like Apple it should be first nationalized, then its tangible assets liquidated, then all patents and IP released to the public domain and the proceeds from liquidation invested in infrastructure, environmental protection and restoration, social assistance and housing.

I see alot of reasons why people hate Google. And i hate both Apple and google. But what are your reasoning for hating Apple?

In a nushell it's thanks to Luis Rossman.

I recomend this youtube channel if you haven't, but in a nutshell they design their expensive devices to fail after their warrantie ends, and do everything in their power so they become nearly impossible to repair. I can forgive their products being expensive and even the closed ecosystem. But their scummy tactics to fuck users out of their money via intentionally faulty or flawed hardware is just unforgivable from a supposed "luxury brand".

Apple can literally make you spend +$1000, lose that money in a second due to, intentionally, due to their poor engineering, and even have the gall to blame you. Doesn't sit well with me to pay a premium, and get treated as if you were buying a chinese knock off brand. Hell if it wasn't because the EU they would still be forcing their users to use those shitty lightning cables.

I don't like how Google does NOT have a support number. If something goes wrong with your Gmail or such, unless you're a celebrity, good luck trying to reach them. Don't say, use their forums, nobody uses that.
This is one of the reasons I can't understand why anyone pays for their services. Especially professionals. I can't understand why the fuck anyone would trust a company you can't even contact with that kind of shit. It just seems incredibly retarded. Especially with Google and their long history of 'lol fuck you' as a response to pretty much everything.

As for the op. I hate Google, I hate microsoft, i hate Apple, I hate hardware manufacturers in general and I hate the gay fucking course technology took because of greedy faggots who want to control humanity like sheep and milk every penny out of everyone for everything.

Ad revenue has been dead forever. The fact that companies still cling to this model show that tech is stagnant, and has no idea how to actually make money.

We are far from how it used to work, this show is sponsored by X. Well, I like this show, so let me buy X. Now it's just generic ads for thing you don't care about. Ads are junk mail you are forced to read.

If I am watching something, enjoying it, an ad popping up and disrupting the experience makes me feel anger. Congratulations, my brain now associates your product with anger. Basic psychology, called anchoring.

For every idiot that clicked a pop up, there are 100,000 who now hate whatever that product is for pissing them off.

This doesn't even address the malware these ads use.

I feel like this is known and deliberate. Marketing departments are bastards, not stupid. You associating their product with ANYTHING is a win and the goal. Now you think of them - even if that thought is 'fuck those guys' - but you did think of them first. People are retards and lazy, they might even just buy the product/service they think of first regardless of why.

Between the shit I see being pulled by GTM and my account manager gleefully talking about Googles plans for the “Post-Consent web” I have found my capacity to hate Google grows to levels I’d never thought possible. Drawing and quartering is too good. I want the people who thought up the systems at Abu Ghraib given free reign on these Google fucks.

Yes I use fibre to hate google. That's why I and everyone else on Kiwi Farms but you already discussed this happening last week

It's funny how all of the surveillance and shit wasn't enough to convince people, but now that uBlock doesn't work people have their panties in a twist.

Honestly, if you didn't move away from Google years ago then you get what you deserve. This is who they are.

Great take on Apple. I use a Iphone 13 and have been since 2021. While i do like FindMe and iMessage, And i find the Apple Watch to be one of the best wearables. Apple TV is nice since the homescreen is clean and doesn’t scroll through a bunch of movie/shows/services that I don’t care for. Some things have really soured with me:

1. The keyboard. I absolutely hate the keyboard. You can’t resize it and even with the latest iOS, the predictions suck. And you can’t resize it like I can with android.

2. Why can’t i open just a plain text file i created on my linux machine? It didn’t open natively and i’m too lazy to find an app. But iOS foundation is built on Unix.

3. Even with the ability to move icons now after the update, why can’t i have 5 icons across my screen?

4. This happened to me over the summer. We had an outside projector and my wife wanted to stream a movie from a streaming service. It plays just fine but when you hook it up to output video, it stops playing. Turns out, in a major update a few years back made it impossible to stream DRM content. Like, who the fucks wants to pirate content on something as restrictive as iOS. Just dumb.

5. Why can’t I output atmost from my plex server to apple tv?

6. Safari sucks and why can’t i have a browser without their shitty webkit? Brave is a little bit better. Also ad blockers are worse on iOS.

I would go buy a samsung phone, but they are just as bad IMO and go along with what changes apple makes. Pixels hardware has been questionable for me. So i’m stuck on a iphone 13 with a broken ass lightning port until i make a decision. And the port just stopped working.

Also, something i saw today on Linus’ podcast.
