Hypokalemic with the stomach flu sounds like a bit much. The PCP could just as easily draw a blood panel and send her home with ODT Zofran and K tablets. Weight loss? Hypo k? ED? Makes me wonder what made her feel like it was such a major issue, and why she didn't overshare. It's not like she's changed as a person much.
She's a medical mess, for sure. I just suspect she got herself up a creek, and she doesn't seem to be overdrinking.
On another topic, Noah just annoys me with the "my parents are narcs" crap. You know, sometimes my in-laws are low grade annoying and critical all day long, too. Calm down, Noah. Just get a job and ignore them.

Edit: I'm a biff, watched her videos again and she was vomiting for 2 days straight. Wasn't paying enough attention first time. The fluid loss from that (or diarrhoea) would be enough to trigger metabolic acidosis. Weird that it was hypokalaemia though, I would have expected hyper.

Remember what Hannah said; she drank High Noons starting in the morning. She may not be able to open her own drinks, but her caregiver does then lines up her little SMA cups on the edge of the counter for her to reach herself.
There is no reason to believe that this behaviour has changed.
We know her patterns of behaviour, and she has been abusing alcohol for a long time. She has admitted that Ari is mostly spending time at her grandparents now so she's got plenty of time to get wasted.
I think this is right. Now I think on it more, prolonged vomiting would cause an alkalosis. It had to happen the other way around, as a result of the hypokalaemia and metabolic acidosis.

I should probably feel bad for saying this but she looks like a melting Hershey's Kiss. I want to get behind her and pull her upright. Having Ari really wrecked her.
I think that at this point she has such bad foot drop (from being irresponsible and not using a footrest) that her feet might no longer bend enough to sit on a footrest. She probably needs braces and physical therapy, but we all know that she's not willing to put any effort into taking care of herself.
I personally find it extra hilarious when Alex wears high heels. They look like lil Barbie shoes someone stuck on her feet for the benefit of the camera. How long do you think they stay on before they just…fall off her dropped feet?

Alex hasn't been super-active, though it's likely because she's still trying to come back from the mysterious and totally-not-alcohol-related hospital incident. Notably, it's been very clear that Ari hasn't been with Alex at all, even for visits, which does raise questions about what events led to the hospitalization.

She posted a video of her making a sandwich to Instagram stories. If you watch this, you can just mute it if you prefer to avoid her voice. You can really see how much she struggles and how much Sabrina is helping her do this, and she nearly drops the sandwich at the end. Alex is a shitty person, but this really shitty disease isn't her fault.

God she really looks like warmed over poop in that sandwich video. Her coloring is horrible. It's like she's got a bar-room tan all over her body; maybe it's just sun damage (just!) but it's so splotchy. She's so clearly circling the drain and the coils are getting tighter.
