She is an aging young adult who found out early that she can start claiming problems to get out of doing anything and chose to keep up the charade even though it obliterated all of her relationships and relegated herself to more begging than a gas station fent addict.

This is 100% her problem. Somewhere around adolescence she learned that being sick was an excuse to get out of schoolwork, and also a way to stave off the disappointment of parents and other authority figures. She doesn't have any other method of dealing with her obligations or coping with stress.

To make matters worse, she's poisoned her body with unnecessary medications that by now at least part of her complaints must be true. Taking large doses of corticosteroids and then stopping them abruptly WILL cause problems with fatigue, anxiety and immune system issues.

She forgets the "college" part of the LARP so easily. Zero streaming services would be a reasonable decision if you're incredibly broke and trying to plow through a ton of reading, right?

Probably something about spoons though.

She regularly claims to be so exhausted she can barely use her phone to shitpost, so how does she even have the spoons to be watching netflix? An actual fulltime student and real disability advocate definitely wouldn't have time for multiple streaming services even if they could afford all of them. I'd love to see how much actual productive work she's done since starting class. If it's any more than half heartedly skimming the reading materials I'll buy her a hulu student subscription myself.

I agree, but I also think part of the problem is that there isn't even, theoretically, a diagnosis that could get her what she wants that isn't automatically excluded by her turning up unaccompanied to a doctors appointment. Even in her fancy chair. I'm no medfag, but have met people with the disableds and the olds and even the most disablest old didn't require the level of care she is claiming.

IMO this puts her in a fix with Twitter. People see she munched the chair, assume some legitimacy. If she gets maybe home health twice a week and cleaning half a day, a massive accommodation she does not need, it gives room for doubt in her following. She has often referred to an assessment that APS in Florida made, where they totally concluded she needed pretty much round the clock care giving, but now I can’t find those references because I’m half asleep. She did seem to have a lot of support there.

If she only gets an hour or two in NY, she’s most likely just gonna use the Florida assessment as legitimacy (like how she says “me, a power chair user”) and call NY ableist and “setting her up to fail” (my sides…).

The professor has spent his whole adult life working to climb into a position in society in which others respect his time. Victoria has not. Whether that's fair, or whether this particular professor deserves it, is irrelevant. The point is that in this context, he holds power over her (he can decide whether or not she stays in her course), and it is in her best interests to keep him happy and show him at least a surface level of respect (by not being ten minutes late to a fucking zoom meeting).

"Keeping people happy if you need something from them" is a very basic part of life! The fact that Victoria does not understand this shows the extent of the entitlement she is drowning in.

I have a feeling that this particular professor probably sees through her grift more than the others do. A girl who shows up in a motorized wheelchair but can't provide any disability paperwork? The professor probably has a dozen students in the same class who managed to get accommodations for their ADHD or anxiety, and Victoria suspiciously can't get anything, despite her 11,000 serious medical conditions?

I don't think there is one. I read a solid two or three months of her twitter feed yesterday, trying to figure out what was going on in the Florida arc between when she got kicked out of inpatient and the move to New York. Vicky doesn't so much have a plan as she has obsessions of the moment. Through the summer she was fixated on getting treatment for inflammatory bowel disease, which she was absolutely sure she had. She's bleeding to death internally, it's going to kill her. Then at some point that fixation just drifts away and something else is about to kill her instead.

I like the theory floated upthread that this is all just an elaborate manifestation of crippling anxiety. Age 17, 18, she looked down the barrel of adulthood and just sorta dove for cover instead.
