I asked before but no one answered me, they were both in the Polite and Friendly DM chain but I don't remember them posting porn there, or anyone else actually.

That's why we advocate for drawn CP to be illegal - to have more options to prosecute pedophiles. And to make them miserable. In this case making pedophiles miserable and easier to prosecute outweighs benefits of "free expression" by a lot because this kind of expression has no value.

I can agree that lolicon has no value, and making pedophiles miserable is a good effect. I do not agree with banning things simply because they have no value or to spite people with mental illness. I do believe that if something is harmful, it should be banned. I see the arguments for lolicon being harmful because it caters to pedophiles regardless of if they touch a kid or not, therefore I'm content with it being banned. However, I also believe if it wasn't banned, the number of pedophiles or children harmed wouldn't go up. Another point being, there's way more things that aid and abet pedophiles that are legal, such as the Catholic church, which haven't been banned. Religion also has no value as a form of self-expression, yet has literally given pedophiles an environment to traumatize children, why isn't it banned too?

I can already hear the christfags about to seethe from that one.

why do they always think people here are hardcore Catholic supporters. there are tonnes of religious people here - lots of us not, too - but I don't really think Catholic is a large denomination here, and there is loads of unchecked jokes all over about Catholic priests.

A vehicle to support an abuse of power, and thus an abuse of children, and pornography of them whose only purpose is to titilate is a terrible comparison also

I would call it perversion, not mental illness. People with actual mental problems, as difficult they may be to be around, are sympathetic. Someone with schizophrenia can't choose not to hear voices in their head. A pedophile can choose to not act on their impulses, they remain in full control of their actions. They choose to seek out CP, they choose to harm children. They are not sympathetic in any way.

Not being religious myself, I still can see that religion can be beneficial to people - as a source of moral guidance, or a source of hope in trying times, or a community and support group for those who have nobody else.
