So would the Caiaphas Cain novels be worth hunting down? I've read...well, I can't remember if it was a compilation or just a single novel. He was fighting Necrons on an ice world, a Genestealer cult alongside some Imperial Guard, and a Chaos invasion whose leader was clearly Hitler down to the moustache.

I never meshed well with "serious" fluff (bounced off of Gaunt's Ghosts pretty hard), but Cain seemed just the right amount of ridiculous for my tastes.

Janovich make a really good Siege of Vraks series that has topographical maps showing the movement of everyone on the battlefield to give you a better perspective. He did a few on Horus Heresy and some one off memes but otherwise he just makes high quality lore videos. Don't expect anything more than once a month though for a 20min video.

OculusImperia is pretty good though their narration can be a bit dry. It's good for background noise though if you want to leave it on a second monitor or playing at work.
