If Snowden had submitted himself for judgement like that other guy did back in the day, they simply would not have given him a fair day in court. Even if they didn't outright Epstein him (which let's be honest, they would have), the courts in this country are utterly fucked now (Case in point, Trump is a 34 time convicted felon, for paying a lawyer who lied about paying a hooker, or whatever.) even back in the 2010's they were already half-way fucked.

I'm not gonna say that the guy's a hero, I still don't know. But he did stick it to a pretty fucking evil system, and provably showed that they were doing pretty fucking evil shit.
I just wish people cared about the fact that they were (and still are) doing the evil shit more. I don't think him running away is the reason why everyone forgot what he disclosed... The guy is top holder in No Trump at 3,513,806 and Yes Kamala at 4,590,854 (Combined he bet more than all but the top two trump supporters and made those bets before theirs). Also, he is betting for every state going to Kamala and voting against every state (Not every state, looks like he is mainly betting big in republican strongholds) going to Trump, even for states like Texas and Florida.

Kamalas campaign has a billion dollars. If you have access to that as a staffer why not do a 10 million "ad buy". (They can leave a note on yheir bet). Its arguably legitimate sense betting markets get news. If she wins any of those you get the money. Even if its just a single swing state. If she loses thats fine too. Not your money.

The problem with Snowden is that the government nailed his dumb ass dead to rights. If he really was as innocent and justified as he says he was, he would have stood trial and shared a fate similar to Ellsberg. There would be no shortage of funds or top-tier lawyers for legal representation. Instead, as noted above, Snowden fled justice because there was no excusing or explaining what he did. So much for Snowden believing in the ideals he professes.

Are you lost? Where is it you think you are? Surely not the country with a managerial class who has been trying everything in their power to silence someone who threatens their comfy lifestyles?

Do you believe that killing political opposition is new or novel? Do you think that undermining the trust of the public is some sort of small thing to these evil fucks? No, or at least to me it doesn't. Only sometimes does "all non whites and gays should be exterminated" matter to the current political situation. There is something to be said about sticking to your beliefs, but also something to be said about being realistic about the politics around you. America has never been a nation of ""all non whites and gays should be exterminated" and I doubt it ever will. Definity not in my life time barring some seriously gay race war/civil war.
