I keep seeing people on Twitter (beyond low IQ I know) cawing about how NC is totally turning blue this year. When did NC suddenly become the big deal this election, even before the hurricane hit?
It's the east coast variant of Blue Texas. Zealous Dems believe it will inevitably turn blue and stay blue in the same way as Virginia while ignoring how the internal immigration to the state and changing party loyalties are affecting things. Add on the skewed mainstream polls eager to play up Harris and shouldn't be too surprising why the true believers think it's in play. North Carolina may flip in the future, but it won't be this cycle and will be accompanied by similar flips in the Rust Belt.

The fix is in at MI.

"Democrat officials say they'll purge over 600,000 'inactive voters' after this election."

Why not do it now? Hell why did it take so long in the first place, why didn't you notice this 4+ years ago?
Going off on a tangent here, but does the politics thread feel kind of more 'liberal" than the rest of A&N and Deep Thoughts? By more liberal I mean less /pol/ish/Stormfrontey. I mean yeah this place is still pretty right wing, and racism is still accepted but I rarely see the "all non whites and gays should be exterminated" type posts that's typical on Deep Thoughts and news article comments.
That's not a bug, it's a feature. Also, not to be "that guy", (even though I'm totally about to be that guy XD,) but racism isn't a "right wing" thing, the Liberals are the real racists.

That's because we are focused on the election here. If we were frequently posing articles about trooner groomers or lunchtime rowdies commiting crimes in this thread thr tone would be the same as the rest of A&H.

If no one in the rural districts can vote, then the cities decide the state. And the cities are bugman hives, filled with rigging assholes and political operatives.

A lot of the Left's fancy talking heads have been telling people that the hurricane will put a major dampener on rural voters due to all the storm damage and truthfully the democrat governor doing everything he can to slow down the repairs and delay replacing the lost voting zones. Leaving most rural voters with a choice to skip voting to make a long drive to the few polling places left working.

The idea is that most of the rural vote will be for Trump so without them the big cities in NC will cause the state to go blue. And sadly they are not that wrong. A lot of Trump voters will be busy or unable to get to a poll location, that despite law must be close and accessible but the Democrat governor fuck that, which could cause Trump to lose the state by a small margin.

Every bit counts this time around, the margins are so tight and the fortification so widespread that it will effect the winner of the race. Trump doesn't just need to win, he needs to win by a large enough margin that the Dems simply cannot produce the number of votes to turn the tide in Harris's favour a'la the 100K 100% Biden 3am vote dump in PA.

But who knows, Harris is desperate, the DNC is desperate and the MSM is desperate so they may very well try to bluff their way to a Harris victory. After all, if the MSM doesn't report it, is it really news? If the 6 big networks announce that Kamala Harris has won the election at 10pm who will contest it?

No one, that's who. The courts are lost, the MSM is lost, the election apparatus is lost so who will stand up and say they cheated? Who will dare to speak out against the entire apperatus of the state? Ask the Jan 6th'er how that went.

To me Trump lost this election back in 2008 when the Dems began to move their agents into every facet of the cultural institutions of America and the GoP just said...well OK I guess, go ahead and take over but we will bitch and moan about it.

Because Merrick Garland, the head of the DoJ, counter sued to make sure they wouldn't until after the election.

He did this in VA too this week. The Head of the Department of Justice sued American States to interfere in their election process, something he is Constitutionally not allowed to do and he won. Because the judges are Dem appointee's and by the time the GoP get's the appeal going it will be too late and they know it.

Every little thing the swamp can do it will do. Anything is game as long as it means a Trump loss. The MSM won't report on it so hardly anyone knows about it but yes Merrick Garland sued to stop some states from purging their voting rolls of illegal or outdated voters.

Gee...I wonder why he'd spend all the effort to do something that will be overturned the second it hits the SCotUS...6 months after the election is over.

Merrick Garland launches suit against Youngkin for purging voter rolls

Hey, we're twinsies! I, too, have a name that no one ever spells or pronounces correctly. I learned from a young age not to take it personally.
I've had my name bungled enough times that I get a good chuckle out of it and simply shake my head at most. I imagine most reasonable people react similarly when this isn't done deliberately.

However, this demonstrates how so many people on the left - namely the people who advocate the various types of justice (social, racial, etc.) - look for anything they can take offense to ... their so-called "microaggressions." It also makes for a good deflection technique: why bother refuting an argument when one can simply claim they have been micro-aggressed, triggered, or otherwise offended by something they deem problematic no matter how insignificant.

It's ironic that the group pushing diversity so much ends up being more divisive than diverse when it matters most - and they often lack the self-awareness to realize this.

Quoting you because I can't seem to quote the Johnny Bravo post you're quoting for some reason. (Actually it might be a different post, but whatever at this point, it's still the same)
You can't quote a quote to create a nested quote and the original post can't be replied to via the buttons because it's too long. If you want to pull in a quote from it, select the text you're interested in, quote it with the floating buttons and then insert it in the WYSIWYG editor.

Ironically, being able to take what Trump says seriously as his word is arguably one of his strongest aspects. I believe Trump wants to do things he says, whether he gets them done, or is convinced otherwise in the future is another story. He comes off honest, where someone like Kamala comes off horrifically dishonest and untrustworthy. Do I think Kamala will get in and do anything about the border? Not really. Is she saying it just for votes? Yeah most likely. If she wins and proves me wrong by fixing the border, then that's a good thing, but that doesn't I think it's even close to likely.

I wish people would just stop using Wikipedia so it would go away, it's been well known by everyone on the planet that it's a biased and untrustworthy source of information since it existed basically, it's always been a running joke and in some cases a real rule to never use Wikipedia for research yet EVERYONE still uses it to cite information.
I mean, Euro news outlets use RCP polling aggregation as a source for headline news about the US election, so this is openly done with ill intent by Wikipedia.

They should just stick to hand tools, and trying to manufacture wire strippers where the fucking rubberized grip doesn’t slip off the handle when you’re stripping 10AWG solid wire.
This triggered me so hard. The ones at Harbor Freight are unironically better.

Once Trump loses this election, it will be game for us in every way. There will be nobody left to fight back against the establishment

The fact that there is a non-insignificant number of people who still think Trump has a chance this year is baffling to me. The steal will be larger than it has ever been in history. I expect 90-100M+ votes for Kamala, and nobody will object.

NC was never in contention and it's all bullshit. The electorate is more redder than it was from 2020. They voted red down the ballot but due to NC republicans sabotage, they may not win the governorship this year.

But no, NC is not in the play. Not according to the early voting.
Hurricane Helene begs to differ. Many rural voters in key Trump strongholds will not be able to vote.

You didn't say anything I didn't know. My response was to both. As JB is still very much active in this thread, I assumed he would see it too.
