Depending on the household, outdoor cats can vary from being close members of the family (who happen to roam outside sometimes), to being essentially feral animals that occasionally wander indoors for food/shelter (but not permanently).
You know the irony of this is that when Barb dies, Chris will become an essentially feral animal that occasionally wanders indoors for food/shelter (but not permanently) to places he isn't yet banned from.

The deep seated fear really sets in for me when I see christian using profile photos that aren't him. I mean it could be anybody behind the most innocent avatar.
I wish Chris were intelligent enough to catfish a straight man or lesbian; the fallout would be epic.

Rocky would probably still come by on a daily basis and throw food at him.

Outdoor cats are sadly disposable. Or at the very least, not subject to any "owners" who have to maintain responsibility.

i just...idk...i can't imagine taking the time to feed and nurse an animal, especially for years, and then not mention it ever again after it's death/disappearance. especially when reminiscing about a tragic event that caused it to burn to death. and i don't personally know anyone (who'd bother in the first place) who doesn't have a similar attitude.

maybe i'm just a crazy cat lady who surrounds herself with other crazy cat ladies idk

I don't think he "[fed] and nurse[d]" it. I think he acquired it like he acquired all his cats: it was a friendly outdoor cat that he (or Bob or Barb) saw a lot, petted once in awhile, and then they started leaving out a bowl of food for it. And then things went from there. Chris has had like seven cats over the years, including one elaborately named "Kitty". This is a very common habit out in the woods where Chris lives. Cats roam. They aren't necessarily dedicated housepets.

The tragic event in their life was that their house burned the fuck down and their life was turned upside down. The loss of a transient cat wasn't the important thing.

Now, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't react that way. But then again, I'm from a very different walk of life. I have indoor cats. Chris is a redneck who lives out in the woods.

I was more thinking of Sorbet when I said "nursed", but I'm assuming he had to have done some kind of health care for the other cats.

Oh, no, I wasn't saying the house burning down WASN'T the tragic event. I meant that the death of the cat was caused by it, adding on to the awful, and the anniversary would have personally reminded me of that.

I just don't understand why you'd go through the trouble of feeding cats if you didn't actually care what happened to them, is all. Must be my naive, bleeding heart yankee brain not understanding the simple lifestyle of the southerners. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Meanwhile, this new cold has me feeling more off than usual; feeling lightheaded and varying level of loopy; more chicken soup for me.

Wasn't he sick just a month or so ago? For a disabled recluse who uses hand sanitizer, he sure falls ill a lot. His diet is terrible and I'm sure he's also dehydrated constantly. Of course, his solution is to stuff his ugly face with soup rather than address the root causes for his frequent colds.

"Number 14 was aflame in'14."
@Brad Watson_Miami number conspiracy?
14 represents the number of days in two of the 4 lunar cycles: there are 14 days in two weeks - a fortnight (British term). To the ancients Romans, there were 14 provinces of Roma. The early Christians* established the 14 Stations of the Cross which are usually depicted on Roman Catholic and Episcopal Church walls with 7** on the left wall and 7 on the right wall (when facing the altar).

My gf lives on the 14th green of a golf course.

This past Monday 12/19/16, I added imaginary time to the "7 Seals"/theories and erroneously came up with 14 aspects of time. I looked for a synchronic reaction and this is when the Muslim terrorist killed 12 in the Berlin Christmas Market Attack. I corrected the mistake on Wednesday 12/21/16 - the winter solstice - back to 12 Aspects of Time.

Sometimes kiwifarms is really an insane asylum...

Did anyone else notice how he said he's been feeling more off than usual, indicating that he's always feeling 'off', just moreso right now?

He is always feeling 'off'. Every other facebook status he mentions feeling 'dizzy', 'loopy', 'mentally blank and scattered' 'mentally here and there' all kinds of weird shit that I guess people who wake up at 3 in the afternoon and haven't eaten a vegetable in 6 years get.
He does this to get comments like Phil does only its far more benign.

You do not have a girlfriend.
Maybe its a gopher or the alligator living in the water hazard?

I had wondered what had happened to the other kittens. I guess they all just went off on their own, as wild cats do.

They might have developed kitty schizophrenia and other mental conditions, but they are still better off.
