Dumb Things That Scare/Frighten You - Dumb shit that someone your age shouldn't be afraid of.

Cockroaches and flies.
I know most people don't like roaches, but if I see one I have to leave the room. Sucks to be me since I might be moving to a place where they're common :heart-empty:

Flies just terrify me more than they do most people.

For a surprisingly long while into my childhood I was terrified of when your head is on your pillow and you can hear your heartbeat. I would have nightmares entirely based around that sound.
Nowadays it's having my head smashed in by my bookshelf falling on my head while I sleep.

I used to have the mirrors thing, and am surprised at anyone who was never afraid of mirrors.

It went away after I dropped acid and looked into a mirror for several hours.

The mirror thing went away.

I have no idea why. Mirrors should be terrifying.
Shit I feel you bro! Mirrors freak me out because there's always this unsettling feeling I get when I look in them and I'll catch a glance of something horrifying in the mirror that may or may not be there.
It's not to the point where I can't look in a mirror but they do make me uncomfortable where I wouldn't want one in my room where I sleep.

I've always been afraid of going up an escalator. The ride is fine, but when I get a couple of steps from the top, I leap off. Even if I'm wearing sneakers, I've always had a fear of my feet getting sucked under and mangled. People laugh when they see a grown woman jumping like I do instead of stepping off. I have no problem going down the escalator, though.

I recently saw this video on YouTube:

It didn't help my fear. I take the stairs when I can.

Clowns and Preying Mantis'. I mean, look at them! Clowns are adults putting on makeup and dressing brightly all for the specific purpose of LURING SMALL CHILDREN TO THEM AND PLAYING WITH THEM. In my book, that makes them borderline Pedos. Preying Mantis'.... don't even look like they evolved on Earth. Look at them! It's almost like someone woke up and saw a Preying Mantis on their face and hallucinated that aliens were taking them. I firmly believe they are spying on us for their alien overlords. Get your tattoos now, the Overlords think we all look alike and will need a way of telling us apart./sarcasm.

But really. Preying Mantis' are nasty.

Extremely silly I know, but churches freak me out something terrible. No real idea why, I just really really really don't want to go in them, or be in them.

Makes it really hard to save my game.

You got stuck nigga. Stay away from mirrors on acid.

Why though? It's not like you'll experience it.

That's part of it too, being nothing. You can't even compare it to sleeping and not remembering your dream.

Anyway, I'm also not fond of looking out of my windows at night.

I always looked at it like turning off an appliance. If you don't believe in the afterlife, think of it like when you unplug a toaster oven. One second its on and can warm your food, next second its inanimate and powered off. You just cease to be one moment. No more memory, no feelings, just nothing. You shouldn't be afraid of nothing, though I guess you can be afraid of the idea of being nothing.

I used to have a really active imagination as a kid and it would drive me nuts sometimes the insane shit I would come up with. Seeing faces and shit in the patterns on my pillow at night, etc.

I know that feeling, I would do the same thing. There was a marble fixture in the shower of my childhood home that had patterns all over it, but my overactive imagination used to make scary looking faces in the patterns so bad that I used to dread taking showers lol.

Deja vu. I know it's just a little glitch in your brain but ever since I was a kid I've associated them with 'you are about to die!!!" No idea why I think that, but they still freak me out

Thousands of people worldwide say they've been abducted by aliens - hundreds of them have been on record on that, with wild stories and some are pretty credible if you happen to watch interviews and such: they're genuinely terrified of whatever happened to them (or what they insanely believe happened to them but didn't). Anyway, even being misanthropic, I find it hard to believe there isn't at least one single guy among all these people telling the objective truth.

If you hear their stories they're all pretty consistent too: most of them happen late at night, with people taken out of their beds in rural regions or on an empty highway. I mean, it doesn't prevent me from traveling at night and I don't really get anxious if I do, but if I have the choice I will, a 100% of the time not take to the highway at night, just in case. I know it's insane and silly but I'd rather be safe than sorry...

Finally someone else who hates flies. Both common cockroaches and flies are disgusting and I hate being around their filth.

I'm afraid of being alone in my house sometimes too, especially with mirrors around. I've watched too many episodes of "I Survived" and one in particular freaked me out so bad. This one woman was putting on her makeup and she could see a man scrunched up in the corner of her room in her mirror and she didn't know how to react to him. What she endured was horrifying and she barely made it out alive. :(
