Youtube was owned by Google at the peak of their power and influence, and they still got kneecapped by the adpocalypse(s). With the stranglehold banks and credit companies have over business and finance, there is no billion dollar company that can't be grabbed by the balls and brought to heel the second they become a nuisance to the right people.
Amazon, like Google, isn't going to risk their real business over a vanity media site they purchased to do some social engineering that hasn't ever even turned a proper profit in its life.
