I think people of that generation don't have a built up immunity to smart phones and the internet. I swear you can entertain my (similarly aged) parents all day with an add driven free game on their phones. People like me that grew up with decent games and adblockers can't do that shit.

Well there absolutely is a way, you just repeal the whole tax code. Or even just order the IRS to stop working.
But I strongly suspect if he even floated either one he’d be on the receiving end of another attempt at the Kennedy special

I think his proposal is to go back to the system that we had at the beginning of the country where tariffs paid for regular expenses and bonds paid for war. That would work for funding actual government services, but it won't work in the modern era where we spend a fortune on welfare.
