Careercow Donald J Trump - 45th/47th President of the USA, convicted felon, Epstein bro, Putin simp, serial liar, sore loser, cheat and the Chris-Chan of Presidents. THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL DEBATE THREAD.

I just looked this up and this is interesting:

The difference between the election winner and popular vote winner seems really unreasonably stark.
Check out the numbers for what I assume are total dollar amount of bets.

$2.2 billion for winning, $443 million for popular vote.

I guess the Trump betters are ignoring the popular vote bet and that's why the disparity. I don't understand betting though, so I could be wrong.

Trump staging the McDonald's photos while the "just put the fries in the bag, bro" meme is still hot makes me believe in the conspiracy theory about his campaign having a mole in it.

Or maybe he's just a fat retard with huge moobies.
The fact that Trump turned what should have been an easy press op that every politician does in any campaign into some petty dig at something an opponent said makes me really see Trump as a reactionary type.

Also, have any MAGA people offered a bounty for proof of Kamala working at McDonald’s? They tend to do that a lot to call out somebody on a claim. That or open invites to their show.

I think Trump voters don’t give a shit about popular vote because that would mean every election would be decided by the mob rule of hardcore leftists in New York and California, and turned blue Texas because “demographics is destiny”. Hell, IIRC the 2016 popular vote for Hillary was secured by California alone.

Even then, get ready for another round of calling for the electoral college to be abolished.

Random update, my neighbor has replaced his Trump flag with a new one. He's also been known to display a Q sticker on his car and if memory serves, some Let's Go Brandon paraphernalia. The consumer culture around Trump is a fascinating aspect of his lolcow status. I'm convinced that Trump supporters are a market worth exploiting because they seem uniquely vulnerable to impulsive purchases of cringe merch in ways that other politically vocal people are not.

Marketing. I am constantly in awe of Trump's marketing effectiveness. It's practically unrivaled and while I think the man is a fucking weirdo egotistical sleezebag, I will never disparage that.

I think generally, his base are the types of folks who go all out with putting their identity on their sleeves at every opportunity. Toolbox stickers, slogan T-shirts, backs of vehicles covered in polemic or identity declaration bumper stickers. Usually edgy things that signal they're intimidated by something and to "not fuck with them or else...". So they're pre-disposed to spending a shit ton of money on things with slogans they identify with to both signal their in-crowds and validate their beliefs.

Again, brilliant strategy and highly effective.

They never have any argument against it either other than "You really want those big city urbanites deciding every election???" like the past 2 elections haven't been decided by 20,000 Pennsylvanians with lower IQs than some chimpanzees

And why shouldn't people in California or New York's vote count as much as those people in swing states? It's pretty retarded that we use the electoral college. It's DEI for Republicans

“Oh no, how dare we let the election be decided by the majority!”

You beat me to this reply and I agree. Supporting Trump became the primary identity for millions of Americans for the last 8 years. Which is also why any attempt at showing a Trump supporter just how bad Trump is will fail. They take everything as a direct attack on themselves and their own identity.

Toolbox stickers, slogan T-shirts, backs of vehicles covered in polemic or identity declaration bumper stickers.
Many of the same people who talk about Americans being "sheep" or "cattle" are the very consumers who purchase everything their cult leader directs them to.

Flags? Better fly them high and proud. Buy multiple and keep one on the lifted truck, one on the house, and one in the yard. Political yard signs? Fill the yard. Shirts? Better wear them in public so everyone can see how much you hate libs and love guns and "freedom." Hats? Obviously, that's a staple in every outfit.

Side note, the "fuck your feelings" part of the Trump 2024 flag is extremely ironic. Trump whines and cries every time his wittle feefees get hurt and it is always hilarious.

This. Literally this.
I'd like to point out that the main reason that California and New York are given the sway they have is because they are the main ports that the US uses. As such every bit of infrastructure in this country is based around these two massive states. They generate the most revenue and they contribute the most to the country in almost every regard. California, New York, and Texas pull the absolute deadweight that is the rustbelt and almost all of the flyovers.
For all the bitching that Republicans do about DEI, their states are given vastly large amounts of social sway that they don't deserve. And it's a hassle to fix anything out there when you have whole states of people that are functionally retarded but believe that they are worth more than they are because they are considered US Citizens and that's literally it.

These are the same types of people that try to say "People that own land are the only ones that should have the right to vote!" while owning some boonie land in Utah, Idaho or Nebraska.
Why should my homes in objectively better states be considered the same as their shit-tier hovel? It's DEI without being DEI. They do this because they know that over time, without any effort put in on their end, they will become the subhumans that give way to Pajeet and Nigger tier culture.
You see it all the time in the US. Old money incapable of sustaining itself as the times change. Ask any white-trash crackhead living in a doublewide, they can always trace themselves back to some big money that their family just couldn't hold onto coming into the next generation.

Edit: Nevada, Arizona, Maine, Wisconsin and Florida being prime examples of massively over-represented areas that do very little for the US. Why are people in major population centers that generate objectively more money, bring in objectively more business, and house objectively more people beholden to rural retards that can't be fucked to pull their own weight?
It sure sounds diverse, equitable and inclusive to give places that produce very little a bit of a boost to keep them up with the rest of the states that aren't sliding down the learning curve like the banana splits.

Anyone who's worked in the blue collar industry knows that, despite all the chest thumping, tough guy, fuck you and your feelings sentiment that exists, the guys are actually fucking huge drama queens who get offended at the drop of a hat and loudly proclaim their offense. Usually because something happens they don't fully understand and they immediately think it's a personal slight against them as a defense against feeling dumb.

So much so, that the "office girls" generally make fun of them for being such whiny bitches.

Yeah like if Trump were a woman, people would be calling Trump a "typical woman" since he is the biggest crybaby whoever ran for President.

Yet people think he is a protector of free speech

Yeah, Trump can sell shit to a toilet. I respect the hustle. But I think it's more than that, like you just gotta run a Facebook ad for some CafePress store selling "Let's Go Brandon" shirts and watch the sales roll in.

I'm legitimately glad to not live in a swing state and be subject to relentless political propaganda, though it's disheartening to know that some moron in Arizona or some other irrelevant shithole effectively decides who my president is.

This. Literally this.
This is borderline Autistic Thunderdome rambling about nothing but I will say that when you live in a major city, anything outside of a 5 mile radius might as well not exist. It's very easy to get sucked into a bubble.

I voted early today. I normally do vote by mail, but I decided to switch back to in-person voting to people watch, and it was interesting. I was in front of three old ladies and I could hear all of their conversation:
  • One of them, the leader, talked for an hour and a half straight. Hardly two brain cells to rub together -- the very epitome of the low-education, apolitical female voter who only votes the way her husband tells her to. Husband, however, is fucking dead, so she has now developed her own opinions.
  • She said she watches every single Trump rally. The teevee told her to vote early because the Democrats threw out hundreds of thousands of votes in the last election and that is why Trump "lost." Teevee (Newsmax?) also told her to vote in person because the Democrats throw out votes by mail. Thousands and thousands of boxes! The two other stooges agreed with her and at least one had "read" the same thing in some article somewhere.
  • She loved the McDonald's stunt; thought it was great, so funny!
  • All three agreed that Trump will save us from living in a third-world country.
  • All three were very inconvenienced about having to wait in line. In their day, you just popped in and out! (You still do, on Election Day.) However, teevee and Daddy Trump asked them to do their part, so they did!
It was like grandma read /pol/ and Twitter. The same talking points -- it was crazy. But, clearly the Big Lie that Trump actually won in 2020 is still holding water, and the increased early voting turnout amongst registered Republicans is likely due to this, too. If Biden won, if Kamala wins, it's fraud, and not because people fucking hate Trump.

You should've reported them to the election officials at the polls. That's considered electioneering and likely illegal where you live

I'll cop to posting something near-thunderdome.
And I agree that once you have lived in a major population center where you see the ongoing change in the world, it becomes difficult to look outside of the immediate happenings to external areas.
Using your bubble analogy, the issue is; the people living outside the bubble hate those living within the bubble anyways and work against their best interests while those within the bubble help provide infrastructure, government funding and even in some cases electricity and water to those outside the bubble.

Bubba Cletus, who lives on welfare and food stamps, totally doesn't need no one to help him out and he is totally self sufficient.
