When you go on about the Four models of history and realise nobody's interested and you don't even know basic facts beyond vibes

civil war tomorrow guys!
source: it happened in my hoi4 game
I actually just downloaded The Fire Rises mod on Steam on its launch day. So far, pretty damn good.

Do I even want to know how bad it is? It can't be worse than Dean Monsieur saying John Brown wanted to kill all the white people in the South.

One of my favorite fantasy novels is Corum by Michael Moorcock. If you have a cursory glance it may appear like a crappy swords and sorcery mid 20th century trashy book but the reality is it’s actually profoundly deep. I frequently think about the symbolism and it’s given me some degree of peace in the insanity of our times. It’s about a prince who’s the last of the elves. The chaos gods have won, destroying the gods of order and the chaos gods sink continents beneath the see and murder entire races out of sheer boredom. Everyone Corum knows as an elf dies. Corum cuts a deal with a wizard for a demonic eye and hand which gradually corrupts him while giving him incredible strength. He goes about killing the chaos gods and it works since the chaos gods have gotten so arrogant that they make obvious oversights which allow a brave and cunning opponent to defeat them. The world is divided between those who worship the chaos gods, those who’ve gone mad, those who have become numb zombies, the barbarians, the sociopathic murderers and those fighting to keep civilization going. The world has become this bizarre psychedelic experience where people don’t really do things that make sense. The thing that gives me peace from these books is that it feels like we’re in a world where the chaos gods won. Where we believe patent absurdities that any other era of historic would completely reject. That we protect criminals, the perverse and deranged. In the Corum books there’s a certain point where you know the old world won’t survive but you have to have faith that what could come out of Order’s victory is worthwhile enough to counter balance it. In order to win you have to compromise yourself, but at the same time not become everything you set out to destroy. When you look at the Western chaos gods today, their greatest weakness is their arrogance.
Absolutely based taste, Moorecock is where it's at for that perfect mix of classic pulpy sci-fi/fantasy and really interesting explorations of whatever theme he's working with.
Could do without the whining about how we live in a crazy world, but whatever I second his book recommendation.

I'm sorry, but when anyone tries to tell me the sci-fi or fantasy book or movie they like is "profoundly deep" and they related to the hero because they are a special chosen one in a world of chaos, my brain turns off, my eyes glaze over, and I just walk around flapping my wings and chirping "Fag! Fag! Fag!" like a bird.

This fucking nigger writes Youtube scripts for a living and seriously wrote, "The thing that gives me peace from these books is that it feels like we’re in a world where the chaos gods won." If a first year arts student read that, they would start foaming at the mouth, jump out the nearest window, have a seizure upon hitting the ground and then die of a massive stroke from the unpleasantness of reading such unwieldly, passive sentence structure.

Rudy wants to defend the sanctity of western culture, but cannot write using basic stylistic concepts that have been a part of western literary canon for hundreds of years.

Has Rudyard ever expressed his interest in something without making it a long-winded diatribe about the things he dislikes? He seems to do this with everything, he never analyzes what a book or piece of media says other than how it relates to his personal dislike of evil gnostic bureaucratic academic leftists and how the whole world is going to collapse.

All I’m saying is that it’s a good book, and that his whining is funny.

The man could go on a winded rant about a children's book with how much of his brain has been melted by his own politics.

I have been made aware of a rumor that Rudy's discord server is being stalked by the FBI children. Is this true?

There was a screenshot of Rudy talking about him getting watched by the feds a few pages back but nothing concrete like this. Still, they're keeping tabs not because he'll lead a revolution but because his fanbase would be the type to shoot up a Wal-Mart.

Thank you WhatifAltHist so cool.
He's rapidly turning into Fatrick Tomlinson.

Is this the beginning of a Razorfist crossover arc?

Is Razorfist into Moorecock?
My username is literally based off of Moorecock, I just wanted to sperg.
If you mention the Witcher anywhere near him you'll get a screed about how Geralt is just a poor-man's Elric of Melnibone. He's even done a video on it:

In fairness to Razorfist he does a good job pointing out the obvious influences/occasional outright plagiarism - and Moorecock deserves a lot more appreciation than he's been given - but there's been more than a few times I've gotten the impression he's mainly upset because grimdark shrek is just more popular than the relatively obscure thing he likes that heavily inspired it.

Was checking on Tim Pool and Scoot Greer on the rumor Tim is a fuckin' retard and heard a familiar voice. Do you want 2 hours of Rudy's thoughts on Civil War with the Beanie Man? No, no one does.

Edit: Good start.
Rudy: I think the Civil War happens this year.
Tim, checking calendar: That's a month and a half, two months.
Rudy:... Yeah.

Edit 2: It's just been Rudy and Tim. I hope Scott has a suicide vest. Rudy is banging on how the right will make a rational decision to stop the money printer through civil war.

edit 3: 23 minutes ish in. Tim is throwing out the hypothetical of a State National Guard vs Feds stand off causing it as in Ft. Sumter. Scott steps in to point out that's an asinine comparison because South Carolina had succeeded and for all practical purposes wasn't a State. Beanie spergs out about how no, the Federal government didn't consider them a different country. Scott counters that doesn't matter since they had no authority in SC. This goes on for minutes. Rudy jumps in. "Tim's correct. The Federal Government didn't consider them succeeded." Top mind

Well with the meltdown, that this was particularly bad and yeah holy shit. It's just Tim and Rudy bouncing retarded ideas off each other. You gentleman can have fun, I tapped out when TIm called living in Chicago, eating out constantly, and driving to work at the airport Taco Bell 40 hours a week an 'entry level job' and how bullshit it was he was losing money.
