Somebody at Reddit's aiwars trained some loras on Glazed images to demonstrate how useless it is. First he did it on AI-generated images, and then when antis weren't convinced and told him he did it wrong, he did it again using his own art.

This has been done before, and much more convincingly. That's not the most relevant part of the story, though.

Ben Zhao, the grifter who created Glaze, was so quick to run his mouth about how the experiment didn't work, that he completely failed to notice that the original lora was trained on AI images, not a real artist's work.

Backstory: The AI bros are crowing that Glaze doesn't work. This is their "proof." But I and other artists (including the amazing Reid Southen) aren't seeing it. I gave random examples here. It's hard to compare piece-by-piece, because the LORA trained off of various "looks" from the original artist. But this will give you a taste.
But to me, Reid, and others, it's just not...there. It's the hand of the painter that is missing. Lots of things. But I cannot express how much I admire the amazing painting skill and rendering prowess of the original (victim) artist. (LOL! It's AI! I assumed he stole from an original artist, but I was fooled!)
The AI doesn't touch the original training data. Does it look "similar"? Yes. To me it looks like a loose "imitation" but missing a lot of little somethings. I think of it kind of like a no-name cover as opposed to the real song performed by the original singer? You can tell it's supposed to be the same song but it's not, so not, the same artist. (But then again, it's like, the more I look the more I see how MUCH not it is. You know?)
But hey! Let's not tell them how NOT it is. They think it is amazing! They see no flaws, apparently. But does that surprise us? No, it should not! Just more evidence that they can't see what they can't see and can't know what they don't know. (But they will insist that they can! Far be it for us to disabuse them of that!)
I see that AI can't do it, that Glaze works or at least aided in AI not "getting" it. The style is not the same. It does not imitate the hand of the original artist.
(Who is the original artist, does anyone know? They are SO AMAZING.)

AH. Wow! Well I liked the originals! I won't lie. They turned out nice. Just goes to show you, AI can fool us sometimes. (Also I'll be honest, I wasn't inspecting the "originals" for signs of AI, like I might have ordinarily. I was caught off guard and was fooled. Oops.)
Thanks for letting me know that they were AI. I took it on faith that they used someone's work, but yes, there were different styles in there. (This is not unusual, we often have more than one rendering style.)
And yeah the result is a failure, it does not look like style they were trying to replicate at all.

Edit: the more I think of the "original" or "real" images (the AI images the OOP glazed for this experiment), you are right, it's very incoherent. The styles varied a bit but I did see some consistency in several of the images and that was gone in the outputted images. Better to use a real artist in the experiment, but then again I don't wish this on any real artist.

In other news, there's this video from the artist LavenderTowne where she draws a number of pics and then Nightshades them to utterly destroy and pwn all AI generators (again, for those in the back: Nightshade doesn't fucking work and you're also literally using the AI you hate so much in order to apply the perturbations):

The only reason AI art looks "AI" is because most people don't bother with LORA's/aren't autistic enough to tinker with it enough to make super quality outputs. 'AI' is literally a recognizable style now because it's just the default anime/realistic look that these models put out without any other input. An artist could easily make art based on that style and make it look like it was AI art.

God, imagine running a local image gen setup with your shitbox pc and some furry artist somewhere on the other end of the world gets raped.
Even if the setup's air-gapped so there's no way there's a connection to the internet.

The logical gymnastics that some people go through...

I think that AI artstyle is mostly defined by adding tons of intricate detail in a way no human artist every would. My current halloween AV is a good example. With tinkering it's actually easy to get more "focused" results.

It's funny to me that a reddit sub like artisthate exists. I wonder if these people are familiar with the saying "If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole". If you feel like you're hated everywhere, maybe it's because you act like a total dickhead? Self reflection, the kryptonite of the cluster B.

Parents know when the kid is troubled. You can see this with many lolcows. The parents always know. They might choose to ignore it, but they know. Why had a 14 year old who was most likely noticably troubled ready access to a gun is the real question that should be asked (The answer as so very often in such cases is "neglectful parenting"). Also being familiar with Game of Thrones at that age is also not exactly age-appropiate.

AI chatbots have incredibly limited memory, if you tell it you're suicidal and you chat with it for a few more hours without mentioning that you're suicidal, it will have forgotten it.

This mom is just trying to cash in on the latest evil rock and roll video game craze to distract from the fact that they left guns lying around a house with a teen they were so negligent towards that they didn't even realize he was depressed and suicidal.
