Phil has had no organic growth through his redemotion arc. He has a nice boost from the retarded Casino dents, but that was short lived. As retarded as they are, even they got bored of the gouted pig

He did see some increase viewership from ‘tard YouTubers like moist and some ordinary gamer talking about him, but that’s it. He’s a middle aged man trying to stay popular in a field that favors younger people. His popular days are gone

Maybe a lifestyle combining alcohol abuse, strong negative feelings about melanin and begging/scamming so you can continue to ignore your real-life responsibilities well into your middle age just…mutates your DNA in some very specific way.

Too old to attract the zoomer audience, too young to do some sort of novelty channel of a boomer playing video games like GrndpaGaming. His only novelty, which he squandered MORE THAN A DECADE AGO because he thinks he's a God Gamer and God's gift to gaming, vlogging, eating food etc. was to be a trainwreck channel, in his case a retard playing games poorly and somehow beating games without using one or more fundamental game mechanics. Let's be honest, most let's players of the "variety" kind aren't good at games, at best they're competent but none of them are a complete trainwreck at games like Phil is. The only times we see the "old Phil" who was entertaining, if for the wrong reasons in the same way a car pile up is entertaining, is when he plays children's platformers and racing games or some other kind of game that you can't really cheese or guide read.

If he didn't have the ego the size of the entirety of Alpha Centauri he would still be a decently-sized channel because he'd hit that niche. Back when Super Best Friends were around (RIP, also holy shit do they suck on their own) I would always gravitate the most towards playthroughs where Woolie was on controls because he's a fucking retard with zero sense of direction, seeming lack of object permanence and inability to learn, he'd always have to equate something to fighting game mechanics to "understand" something no matter how dumb the connection is. If he played something like EU4 he'd somehow try to do shit like equate longbowmen to jab and Latin knights to a slow overhead or some other bullshit like that. It's funny to look at.

I hate to be a genetic determinist but Phail's personality pretty much sealed his fate as always ending up as a Phailure. In fact, this universe is probably the best possible outcome for him since he tasted success for about half a decade before going on an endless decline, scraping the bottom of the barrel until it gives in, breaks and makes him hit the bottom of the barrel underneath. In any other universe and timeline he'd be bouncing between min. wage jobs and getting fired because there's quite frankly no job he could perform which would justify the investment of whatever the min. wage per hour is in Bridgeport.

I imagine his "monetary compensation" was getting a couple months paid of service. Sounds like the type of shit he would cream over if offered.

Phil is the guy who signs the class action and binding arbitration waiver before the paper even cools off from the printer. That dude will trade away any cow you give him just as long as the magic beans he gets have a shiny enough package.

RE: all the Comcast stuff... the big hole in all of that is how 1) Phil didn't get some monetary compensation from Comcast for what allegedly happened and 2) if he did, how he's allowed to keep bringing it up, as you'd think if they did give him something they'd make him sign a NDA or something along those lines.
