With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

The setting of a reality show was a bad fit for brian, he was good on 2.5 but awful on season 2, and that cant be all attributed to Jet. He started the trend of "production told me too" which was incredibly cringe cop out every fish started using when they received consequences for anything they did. He also repeatedly said "we gotta make content guys" all the time which is super lame as an audience member to see. He kind of set the tone as half the fish viewed him as their group leader. I think he had immunity and still got kicked because the other fish where following his lead and the audience hated it. It seemed that he got onto the show literally last minute (i think he had like 10 hours warning), and that really screwed him as he never had time to prepare mentally or even have a strategy going in.

Trish was paid 1000 dollars to kiss brian, i think she was also paid to kiss cole, so she was certainly paid to fake sex with brian. I think overall the worst part of season 2 was the huge increase in production forcing actions and drama.

Having been reading through this thread, i havent seen it mentioned but watching that vance interview, he mentions how great Tayleigh was on 2.5 and how strong she was and never quit even though she was getting alot of hate (even though she left the show for a whole day) it should be brought up Tayleigh stated on her very last stream where she was watching the bloodgames recap's that she asked to be killed off and that whole situation where she "sacrificed" herself to save her team and the swordfight with jet was scripted just to get her off because she wanted off. She even said that she felt it enhanced the show.

I don't think it was a cop out, I think Jet was really that overbearing. That or it was so ever present it was an easy or for doing anything, because everyone knew how much Jet was putting his hand up contAstEnts' asses.

JC had no idea who sam, jet, or even anything related to them, the ENTIRE second season was going to revolve around the fact that JC was the only one who didnt know and all of the other contestants had to figure out who knew. The issue is, is that it got ruined day 4. One of the biggest reveals of the show ruined by its own fans.

I really, really think if JC had stuck it out season 2 would have been better. Her presence as the untainted newbie was great. Her leaving was a huge blow to the show. Her and Brian.

JC would never have tolerated the insane stuff that came later, its just not in her character, what you're asking for is for someone completely different from JC to fill the slot. Shinji never heard of fishtank or MDE as well so you did get an untainted newbie for the show and he became mostly disillusioned and wanted to leave when he started getting targeted as well.

You're right. JC would have walked off the show the second something like the vomit challenge happened. Shinji was good as the untainted new person my issue is he wasn't really able to fully convey it because of the big language barrier whereas JC had a perfect grasp of English.
