I made the unfortunate decision to watch the latest FishStickOnAStick video about the Black Box because I was bored, only to be jumpscared halfway through the video by a Twitter quote from Hbomberguy, the disingenuous snaggletooth twink himself.

The section I'm talking about starts at 6:08 and I've also provided a snippet if you don't want to give him the engagement:

Now in the video, it does seem like he was subtly criticizing the Angioid's retarded spergings but given the track record for TF2-tubers, there is the chance he might be a genuine fan of that charlatan's content. I don't know enough about FSOAS to say for sure this was a dig at him however I feel the act of being unwillingly exposed to anything related to that balding fuckwit's content should be considered a crime.

He did upload a Dark Souls 2 stream compilation video where he showed his displeasure with the game design and I think talked about the famous "In Defense of Dark Souls 2" video that Hbomberguy made, shitting on it a little. So that prevents me from instantly labeling him a faggot follower. There is also this comment from a guy who gets it:

Breadtubers are one of the worst plagues placed upon on the internet and that's saying something.
Nah, Fishstick is pretty right-leaning. The Hbomberguy quote was a dig at the guy, in that "can you believe someone wrote that on the internet?!" kind of way.

TF2 bros, we're so fucking back.

It's also broken pretty much every scout cosmetic that effects his pants and I guarantee they would rather roll this back to fix it than either contact every single one of the cosmetic creators to ask them to fix their textures, or do it themselves.
there's multiple fix packs on the workshop that fix all of the cosmetics affected

There's still the issue of Valve not wanting to use fixes for people's items that werent made by the original item creators. Hopefully they can pull their heads out of their asses for this case and just apply one of the Workshop submissions. One of the items was made like 10 years ago and both contributors of it are long gone so its either they just say "fuck it" and use the fix pack, or revert the pants change.

That was an error? I never even noticed.
a very dumb one and a genuine case of valve's incompetence yet again, since everything (except the pants themselves) that has the pants has the correct coloring, even better the pants got their coloring fucked up somewhere around release day tf2 since the pre-release material shows the correct color on these.

shounic video that covers what has been fixed

shounic video that explains what the 17 year old snafu is about

There's more to the blue pants thing than what Shounic mentioned.

I checked out the cutting room floor's article for that leaked June 2007 build, specifically the "asset differences" subpage, and saw this:

The pants were blue for both teams but the belt loops for the Red Scout were the proper brown color because I guess the belt loops aren't part of the same PSD teamcolor layer as the pants themselves.

I remember seeing some old footage on twitter (that I can't find now) of an August 2007 playtest where the pants color had been fixed properly. Red Scout had brown pants, Blue Scout had blue pants.

Then you fast forward to September 2007 when the game launched and both teams' Scout had the red pants.

It's incredible how Valve fucked it up at first, then fixed it, then fucked it up again before waiting 17 years to fix it again.

I've been told there's a tranny in the TF2C discord who is trying to claim credit for Valve adding the blue pants fix because he emailed Eric about it.

He doesn't even provide a full email screenshot for proof. And he wasn't given a "thanks <tranny>" note in the patch notes.

Are people really this desperate for asspats? Especially to try to claim credit for something that has been submitted to Valve over email, to the Valve Github, to the Steam Workshop, etc. for the entire lifetime of the game. It boggles the mind.

The entire TF2 fanbase has given birth to a lot of mindrotten people, namely furries and the many ways they've tried to steal valor. Wait for someone to be ousted as a rapist, only to then swoop in and be "their only friend left". Or becoming artist "managers" who do very little but get to associate with the artist who has the actual skills. I mean shit I'm the reason a lot of localized TF2 is the way it is in my language but I couldn't care less. The most "ego" I've had was the steam profile badge for translation which was a long way underway.
