Bet big money their internal polling is much worse than the mainstream polling the media is reporting.

Her campaign knows the McDonalds freakout by the media and twitter spergs put the Harris' unpopularity beyond saving. They looked like insecure angry losers, and voters know they were behind the online seething.

They also thought the lame ass "October suprise" they dropped this week might move the needle, but it backfired if anything. Hitler + "he touched me in 1983" + he hates the dead soldiers = snore. We've heard all that shit since 2016.

I'm going to paraphrase a point someone else made that I can't remember who. Compromise is the wrong word to use. Compromise is both sides give something up and meet in the middle. When tptb hollow out the 2nd, what do we get in return? Them not demanding more for a time being? It's not compromise. It's extortion. Like a protection racket, either give me a little of your money or I'll take everything you have.

Hancock has leveled out as he's gotten older but he rules because him getting more attention than academic archeologists made certain archaologists seethe so hard that it was funny. Hancock's ideas are fun to think about and where I absolutely 100% agree with him (and legit academics like Abi Loeb at Harvard) is that academics are so fucking obsessed with credentials and money that no one has the balls to speculate or dream, which is a cornerstone of human discovery.

Edit to add: pointless shout out to Robin Hanson as well for daring to speculate about cool shit like aliens, even if it might hurt him professionally.

It's odd how every DI will say all this shit and was willing to die for their country but are such big pussies when it comes to being willing to speak out for their country. They have all the martial courage but none of the moral courage. The epitome of the "won't say the N word even if the alternative is nuclear war" scenario.

Machine guns were being used in crimes, tommy guns were used during the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre and Clyde (of Bonnie and Clyde fame) was notorious for using a Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR). Both of which are classified as machine guns. The really damning part of the NFA (National Firearms Act) was how they originally set out to ban handguns because of their use in crime. Thankfully that was scrapped. It was from start to end a bill made by crooked politicians afraid their police forces would be overwhelmed by an armed citizenry. Even if criminals are using belt-fed machine guns, that is no reason to ban their ownership by private citizens.

The implication is for those voters who would rather stay home but are afraid of the social shaming they get if they don't. The entire play here is "you don't want to vote, so we'll intimidate you to vote, and assume you won't vote Trump."

This type of marketing could backfire. I know I'd vote for somebody besides Harris if I was a disaffected democrat, and saw this shit. I might even vote Trump in a safe blue state just so he got the popular vote.
