Now word comes about stunning industry news of another sort. The Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post have declined to endorse either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump, which in the case of the Bezos Post especially reads like a decision to surrender to coming bad election news

Why does a newspaper need to endorse a person though in the first place?

Yah this podcast is rather plain, no fireworks or anything so far but both Trump and Rogan seems to be having a good time.

In fact Rogan seems to be to be a little intimidated compared to his usual self. He's not interrupting or interjecting anything when Trump speaks. He waits for Trump to finish and then adds his 2 cents. Which for Rogan is really out of character, normally he won't shut the fuck up.

Rogan was probably nervous, but the hour or so i've listened too so far it just seems like Rogan was more just letting the conversation flow. Really sort of what I was hoping for.

Probably not a popular opinion, but I think if Kamala could have done this, and once she was able to just talk she might have been reasonably likable too. But I don't know if she would have been able or willing too. It's not like she could have done anything to hurt her chances anymore than she already has.

meh they just go to their twitter for you page and spam all the latest talking points in here, they refuse to respond to me and keep up their spam of random posts. Getting off to the response and have deluded themselves into thinking a single moment is going to define the election. Hey numnuts, the shooting of Trump can't be topped in terms of a single moment, the only way Harris would win is by good policy, good speeches and a sustained confidence. She has none of that.

I think the JRE podcast is an important moment in media to give three hours of access to a candidate speaking like that. It's pretty hard to script three hours worth or responses, at some point the real character will come through.

I am already prepared for the neg reacts but I found Trumps response to Rogan asking about the first day (repeatedly) interesting because it would be a weakness to say he was scared because he had no idea how to be president, so he instead described how it felt to be overwhelmed by the significance of the position. It seems like when he first took office he legitimately had no idea how to be president and relied on a lot of people to tell him how things worked, which is another weakness. But becoming heavily invested in the history of the past presidents gives him a base line of what can be considered success going forward so demonstrating an understanding of that is probably important to him even if it makes for a kind of boring podcast I could only do 40 minutes of.
