I've got zero interest in the book. (It's for kids.) But the fact that EVS is getting dunked on by a guy with zero comic book experience coupled with the fact that the guy is using RippaSend to fulfill his campaign is hilarious karmic justice.

I am not even a little surprised that Richard doesn't like Dredd. One thing I noted about Richard is that basically a lot of things that are considered classics (not all) he doesn't like it. For example, as part of his effusive praise for Furiosa he admitted he didn't like The Road Warrior or the rest of the Mad Max movies. Dredd was one of the best movies to come out in years, so of course he didn't like it. While I've seen mixed reviews of The Crow here, I personally think the original was certainly better than the new, retarded version. (I haven't seen the new version but Zack's commentary on it made me realize how retarded it is.) It's the same with Spawn. When Spawn came out I bought some of the original run, so Zack of course says he can do it better and comes out with a retarded elevator pitch that discards most of the character and universe for a less interesting one.

I have never met a (straight) guy who doesn't like The Road Warrior. The Road Warrior is so good the creator of Fist of the North Star adapted its aesthetic. And for a comic book artist and fan to not like that movie - the movie is pure action comic book. There's so much of it's story that is purely visual.
I've known artists like that who thrive on being the rebel who hates anything popular. The only thing is that those people usually had good taste and liked obscure stuff that was genuinely good, whereas Zack likes dumb mainstream trash. It's hard for me to believe anybody other than a contrarian could say they genuinely love Furiosa while not liking the Mel Gibson Mad Max movies.
At this point, I do not see how anyone could call Zack anything other than either a contrarian or a severely OCD affected man. He either has the opposite opinion from anyone or his taste is so peculiar and specific that taking his opinion should be out of the question.

Based on Zack's postings lately, I think he thinks fantasy is for gay queers. Now, I've known he's hated fantasy for years, which I put down to a lack of intelligence and imagination. It's why his elevator pitch for Spawn stripped out all the supernatural elements. He's even mentioned not liking fantasy in videos, but he's become super aggressive about it lately. Also, has he never seen the Wizard of Oz? It has good witches and wicked witches, but it doesn't have any fairy godmothers, that's Malificent or Sleeping Beauty. Those old epic Disney cartoons like Sleeping Beauty weren't supposed to be for a female only audience, they had dragons and action in them. It's just that Disney figured out they could market the princesses to girls, but that's a modern thing. I think Zack has some kind of complex about women.
