Sony hate thread

PS5 is a bloodborne and 4k UHD machine. I can't even use it for a living room youtube player because there are no adblockers for the PS5 and HOLY SHIT youtube is so fucking bad with the ads now. I tried to watch a 7 minute film commentary and ended up with three political ads this morning.

I posted earlier ITT how one of my friends got suckered (kinda but not really) into buying a PS5, he ordered it in the midst of the scalping epidemic and forgot he did, the retailer told him how they sadly don't have any in stock right now and how they will send one as soon as they have any in stock again, cue almost a year later and it arrived and he decided to keep it, me and our other friends always ask him what cool new games he's playing on it to fuck with him. It got upgraded from being the Demon Souls remake machine to being the Elden Ring machine for him :story:

Yeah, they shut down the XBox 360 Market place a couple of months back so I figured it was finally time to upgrade to the current gen. I ended up getting the PS5 because I heard that it had a lot of features to go with the Bravia TVs I was looking at. There pretty much isn't anything I can play on it that I couldn't play on the PC except Bloodborne and Demon's Souls.

Again a thing i already mentioned before ITT but i can't put into words how happy i am with switching over to PC again this gen, it was the most sensible decision in the end. I bought a pre-built for the first time ever since Pentium 60mhz days, in the middle of the graphics card price explosion due to crypto and around the time the PS5 dropped because my old desktop died and i found an insane deal on the site of one of our local retailers (1000 yurodollars for a non-stock 3060ti and a Ryzen 5 5600X, when 3060ti's were netting more than half that price pre-used in my country and even CPUs were way overpriced). I originally planned for it to just last me over the PS5's lifetime but how things are looking in regards to this gen's general fiasko i can get a lot more years out of it than initially planned, especially in regards to the games i play and their general graphic fidelity.

Yeah well you can't have a PC in the living room scaring the bitches. A PS5 is aesthetic, works as a netflix player, and you can watch movies and that is all you really need.

The PS5 controller looks pretty cool. Planning on buying one with the hall-effect joysticks. I don't know what's happened for used Dualsense controller prices to fall below $70 this past month.

The Dualsense Edge is a fantastic controller for gaming from bed. Invest in some replacement Hall Effect sticks and you are golden. The touchpad is really nice for sneed decking in bed since you can map mouse controls to it for map paintan games.

Why would you need a PS5 for this? You can just get a Roku or Apple TV. And it's 2024 - we have aesthetic woodgrain panel PCs without RGB you can just stick in your home entertainment center.

tbh the PS5 is probably the ugliest bit of consumer electronics I own. It's too ostentatious to hide but it's also just kinda fugly-looking. Major aesthetic downgrade from the PS4 and looks like shit compared to the Xbox Series X.

What's happened this generation with everything going to PC really feels like Sony scuttling its own success. I would not consider Horizon or Last of Us to be long-term investments, and a third game will probably send them the way of Resistance.

I want something that looks like an old receiver, horizontal.
I guess what I need to do is get a rack case and slap some walnut on the sides.

Yea, I know, get the CNC router working and build it myself.

I held one of these in my hands for the first time this year when one of my friends dragged me to one of these sorta barcades, for lack of a better term, we got around here where it's basically just a room with a couple of big TVs and PS5s and a couple muslim dudes who look like they are involved with organized crime taking your money to play and i have to say the pad feels really nice. Switching the round "Home" button from the DS4 to the PS logo was a retarded choice though, looks butt ugly.
