2024 Moderator Applications

Hope things go well, & no power trippers slip by & get in. Best case is a few people able to do things with common sense, efficiency, self sufficiency & with understated expectations get in. Though that is hard to find. Being fair in judgment is important too.

Those who who act like they are super important, or are big headed & power tripping hopefully don’t make the cut. Self importance is one of the worst traits a mod can have. May be fine as users, but as mods they suck it. Confidence is excellent though, & it can be tricky in telling the difference sometimes.

One decent way to set those types apart is to see that power trips often come from those who go along to get along, follower types & those who only say approved things or jump on bandwagons, whereas confidence shines through in being an independent thinker & not having to be well liked, being liked enough for being as they are. Good luck to those who would be a good fit, & think twice to those who want to be important or some big person.

Seriously good luck finding a few good mods. Hoping for the best at this time for the site.

I think you would find that if you would allow the OP of a thread to have basic moderator privileges in the thread that he created, I think a lot of your moderation issues would evaporate.

S/He should have the privilege to block persons from that thread.

There is really no legitimate reason to be unfriendly or offensive to the creator of a thread.
