My Little Brony II: The Cloppening

What actually is a "Twilight Sparkle"? I know it's the name of the character in the cartoon, but is there some real-life phenomena related to sparkling during the various stages of twilight? I can kind of vaguely remember something about weird green flashes from some atmospheric effect that happens when the sun sets, but
1) the character's not "Sunset Flash", and
2) by definition, it's not Twilight when the sun still has any "limbs" over the (visual) horizon.

Yes, I know about refraction due to the atmosphere and all that, I'm asking about any phenomenon or phenomena that's solidly twilight related.

I also know about Iridium flares and other artificial satellite effects, but I doubt that's what's going on in a show that has no indication of extensive mechanization of space.

Stars are said to sparkle, and twilight also suggests her color.

I know, but is it a particularly "twilight" related thing? Maybe there's something there with thermal differences due to the sun setting causing refraction changes. Maybe I'll investigate.

Edit: I'm not going to reply, but what I'm trying to get at, is what makes it a particularly "twilight" effect, not just a night time effect?

Stars "actually do" twinkle by the way, you can see it on a computer screen. Only behind an atmosphere though.

You can correct it out quite a bit in real life, see:

Edit edit: also, with the right equipment you can see stars during the day time, but I'm not sure how well it works near sea level.

You see, twilight is when stars become visible. I believe physicists say it has something to do with the rotation of the earth away from facing the sun.

What is a pinkie pie?
Twilight is between day and night, like Celestia and Luna, and her cutie mark is a star, and stars show up at twilight.

And Pinkie Pie is pink, and bakes pies.

There's not really much here, it's a show for small children, who can usually get the idea without overthinking it.

What is a "Rainbow Dash"? Rainbows stay still yet this one is supposedly going fast, dashing if you will.
I just don't get it, it's messing my mind up bros.
And don't even get me started on whatever the fuck a "Fluttershy" is.
At least applejack is a type of beverage.

The PTS v. IRL video is up, can't embed it due to it being on ponytube so here it is: https://pony.tube/w/fnZLug78KENiwhCZA8PRto
This looks like pure Kino, can't watch it right now but jumping around and seeing Gaston already makes me laugh, one of the oldest videos I saved.

E: Found this one as well looking in the archive, it's of a similar nature, doubt they've done it.

I bet that thing crunches like snow every time he moved it.
Hell, makes me mati to say this, but he's probably had so much sex with that pillow it should practically stand on its own.

Also, that bald spot, is like a chef's kiss on the dish that is this travesty of a photo

Edit:*They've, just noticed to my horror, that there are two of them.

Bringing your pony plushie to an anime or geek convention is one thing, but a Renaissance Fair? Come on my guy...*sigh*
Apparently ren fairs are now as pozzed as any other such gathering. Used to be even the geeks there would try to be period appropriate for the normies' sake, but no, everything has to be all pervy all the time. You'll see more stereotypical furfags there too.

You're telling me 5-foot mare dolls in thigh-highs weren’t a staple of medieval culture?

History revisionism at its finest

I don't think this is what Marcellus Wallace meant when he said "medieval on their asses."

Yes I know the Medieval times and the Renaissance are two different times periods.
