What actually is a "Twilight Sparkle"? I know it's the name of the character in the cartoon, but is there some real-life phenomena related to sparkling during the various stages of twilight? I can kind of vaguely remember something about weird green flashes from some atmospheric effect that happens when the sun sets, but
1) the character's not "Sunset Flash", and
2) by definition, it's not Twilight when the sun still has any "limbs" over the (visual) horizon.
Yes, I know about refraction due to the atmosphere and all that, I'm asking about any phenomenon or phenomena that's solidly twilight related.
I also know about Iridium flares and other artificial satellite effects, but I doubt that's what's going on in a show that has no indication of extensive mechanization of space.
