Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

I could probably do with a precis on Georgian politics if some generous soul is so inclined to sperg a little bit.
Long story short
Corrupt country that was having problems with seperatist regions, started to make progress and peace after over a decade of conflict.

Rose Revolution in 2003 backed by Western funded NGOs and Soros (literally not being a alt-right the Jews did this kinda guy, but Soros was pouring money there) who backed Saakashvili. Saakashvili is a goodboy and leads Georgia into conflict with Russia over the seperatist regions, while at the same time imprisoning and torturing Georgians (see the Gldani prison scandal. There was also the small thing about tryign to become part of NATO, and kicking shit up with the seperatists again, which caused Russia to head in, slap some bitches around and recognise the breakaway areas as independent (like the Donbass).
The Georgian people got pissed off and voted the shit out of Saakashvilli who gathered his things and ran like a pussy to Ukraine to become major of Odessa, before being stripped of his Ukranian citizenship for pissing off Poroshenko. He tried to start another revolution by returning to Georgia, but was instead arrested and thrown in Jail.
GD which is led by the richest person in Georgia has tried to bring Georgia into the EU, but has also been pragmatic with Russia. They introduced 'controversial' laws which require organisations funded more than 20% from overseas to register (just like in the USA), and has cracked down on faggot NGO's trying to subvert democracy. In this election, a bunch of squabbling cunts tried to band together to get rid of GD, which failed and now they are crying about it. GD won because they have not been as shit as Western controlled governments, and ran a campaign saying 'hey, we don't want war, but these cunts do!)
Oh and the president is literally a French intellegence plant.

Georgian Dream are not Pro-Russian at all, yet the media are screaming how they just handed a win to Putin.
If you don't get your country destroyed in a pointless war against the preeminent regional power to make DC happy. The only possible benefactor in the resulting peace and not having the male population of Georgia wiped out like Ukraine; is Putler duh!

Oh god no, even brutalism doesn't look that bad. Brutalist buildings tend to be, well, "brutal" looking -- oppressive and rigid:

Brutalism usually looks much worse than that because it's often in wet climates and they don't regularly power wash them so they look stained with piss most of the time.

Some early morning mapping. Highly recommend the last few minutes, it's a pretty good analysis and explanation of how these "half-cauldrons" work.

Colour revolution in Georgia tomorrow?
They're already preparing for it. Just look at the first paragraphs here. They're clearly laying the groundwork for a narrative to justify their NGO's wreaking havoc.
"Disputed election." The blanket claims of "ballot stuffing, bribery and voter intimidation" and the preface that it's a "blow to the west" and by extension a personal W for Putin.

Yes I know, it's very concerning. I have some good friends there...

Thank you, that was very helpful. Much appreciated.

The Ukrainian pocket in Kursk is collapsing rapidly. Every day in its report, North group of the Russian Army reports substantial advances, certainly compared with what's going on in the Donbas. Here is what they claim for the last few days:

19/10
Общее продвижение российских войск в Курской области составило до 10 000 метров.
The total advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region amounted to 10,000 meters.

20/10
Общее продвижение российских войск в Курской области составило до 2200 метров.
The total advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region amounted to 2,200 meters.

21/10
Общее продвижение российских войск в Курской области составило до 4000 метров.
The total advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region amounted to 4,000 meters.

22/10
Общее продвижение российских войск в Курской области составило до 1000 метров.
The total advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region amounted to 1,000 meters.

23/10
Общее продвижение российских войск в Курской области составило до 3500 метров.
The total advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region amounted to 3,500 meters.

24/10
Общее продвижение российских войск в Курской области составило до 9500 метров.
The total advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region amounted to 9,500 meters.

25/10
Общее продвижение российских войск в Курской области составило до 7000 метров.
The total advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region amounted to 7,000 meters.

26/10
Общее продвижение российских войск в Курской области составило до 4000 метров.
The total advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region amounted to 4,000 meters.

OK, they don't say how they're measuring and whether it's in the same direction every day, but it all adds up eventually, and today they also say they got a couple more Himars along with a big chunk of their operators.

And that collapse seems to be happening everywhere
untitled31.jpguntitled32.jpguntitled34.jpg

And air defence is so degraded that the Russians can send cheap Gerans drones all the way to Lviv, saving the Iskanders for more urgent targets. It must take several hours for them to travel all the way to the Western border, yet they still cause damage.
untitled37.jpg

The Ukrainians still have a couple of ideas to keep fighting
untitled35.jpguntitled28.jpg

But they're facing the eternal problem of their own corruption which must have damaged them as much as the Russians have.

And European support continues to wane

I wonder how much longer the average AFU soldier has left in the tank. its watched as its morale and motivation went from unstoppable during the initial reversals at Kharkov and Kiev, to a pause watching its most motivated and "elite" torn apart at the siege of Azovstahl. to seeing its best return from the west with the best tanks and equipment in stock only to be torn apart on minefields, razor wire, and endless trenches.

then they watched as they waged the largest and bloodiest urban battle in europe since world war 2 at Bahkmut, losing tens of thousands of their comrades in a bloody vortex of blood and death against a new type of foe who learned and adapted. and now after the Kursk offensive designed to relieve the Donbas frontline has failed utterly. the vast war machine of Russia coughed up enough divisions to plug the gap and now that the AFU was away from its national air defence the results have been terrible irreplaceable crews and soldiers lost to drones and artillery.

And now we are watching this war turn to a much more grim spectacle than before, long range guided bombs are systematically destroying position after position, vacuum and flamethrower rockets scorch harder positions and the nights are filled with thermal drones targeting wounded soldiers waiting to be evacuated and vehicles who were unlucky. The Russian "Meat" attacks of dozens of motorbikes and light vehicles rushing towards making small islands to then call in fires has led to grim casualties for sure but it is working slowly, ever so slowly grinding away the positions of the Ukrainians who for political reasons cannot retreat as many called for across the Dniper

It is said war is hell but this war, the longer it goes on, the average AFU is no longer a nazi or even a supporter of Zelensky. they are more and more kidnapped men from the streets, Conscripts given next to no training and the disabled and mentally ill called to a war they cannot run from, they did not have the money like their cousins in the city to escape the bloody war to europe. they remained because of loved ones and jobs, now they are in the corpse filled trenches holding the line as best they can. and for what Ukraine will never recover from this, landmines alone entire regions of the country can no longer be safely traversed, the economy is completely destroyed and the demographics are that of a failed state. i know this is rambling like an old man but this war is becoming something far far worse then when the boys crossed the border waving soviet flags and preparing for a great unification.

This thread would be abandoned and a million Russians and Ukrainians would still be alive if they had simply accepted the terms of the proposed peace settlement in 2022 instead of listening to Boris Johnson, Victoria Nuland and the rabid Russophobes who thought they could accomplish what Hitler and Napoleon could not. Because there would be no war right now.

But no, they did the bidding of the US, UK and the EU and huffed their own farts. Russia has finally had enough and is going to steamroll them at least to the Dniper in a way that William Tecumseh Sherman would approve. It's going to get real ugly before it's over but that's what the Ukraine signed up for. Sorry but my sympathy for the majority is tapped out.

Let's have a look-see.

"We shouldn’t forget where this all started. The downturn in Germany started in the springtime of 2022. And we all know the reason why this happened in the springtime of 2022," Nagel said on Saturday in Washington.
Because you let your "allies" blow up Nord Stream and demolish your energy lifeline?

"It makes me crazy when I have to listen to the Russian colleague in the G-20 format, and he’s telling me how important it is to have international cooperation," Nagel added.
Like selling people hydrocarbons that they badly need to run their industry, this kind of thing?

I occasionally subject myself to Reddit. One of the main talking points I hear is that "Russia cannot even conquer Ukraine." This must be the most ignorant thing I have read about the war. Before this conflict started, Ukraine had one of Europe's largest and best-equipped armies. With every passing day, Russia's ability to fight evolves. The Russians are now familiar with NATO tactics and the strengths and weaknesses of Nato vehicles and are becoming experts in electronic warfare. All of the data the Russians are gathering will no doubt be shared with the Chinese and North Korea. Westerners should be horrified at how their countries have conducted themselves in this conflict, but most of them believe they are winning.

I think there's also something to be said about how Russia is able to blood and harden their army for modern warfare without too much blood shed. Experience is an extremely powerful force multiplier, as Prussia/Germany demonstrated for most of the 18 to 20th century.

Nothing of that sort is happening for western armies at the moment, and no, fucking up goatherders in the middle east isn't even close to the experience of fighting a near-peer army.

"They couldn't even conquer X" has been an ever-evolving talking point since the start of the war. During the battle for Mariupol after Azovstal was put under siege and everyone was just stuck in the catacombs for instance the meme was "they couldn't even take a little steel mill". Until, of course, they all surrendered after being starved out with no storming of the building being necessary because the Russians just waited out the Azovites. Then they branded it as a victory, and it became "they couldn't

Mariupol success.jpg

... Then it became "They couldn't even take Bakhmut"... Until Bakhmut eventually was declared irrelevant as the encircled defenders were wiped out.

Bakhmut evolution into clownhood.png

When the war is over, even after an unconditional Ukrainian surrender, these people will call it a huge victory because they didn't conquer all of Europe. And if Russia conquered the entire world, these people would mock them for being unable to annex the moon itself.

Not really related, but I found this when looking through my old memories folder and thought this was good for a sensible chuckle, just so you know the caliber of the people we're talking about here.

A couple of interesting media reports. First, the Mail is actually reporting one of the Iskander strikes on Odessa. Have they realised that continually sticking their fingers in their ears and singing "La La, I can't hear you" is going to make them look really dumb when the end comes and they have to explain to their readers that despite the succession of Ukrainian victories they have been reporting for two years, Russia has mysteriously won.

Moment Ukrainian warehouse full of Western ammunition bursts into flames after Russian missile strike - as Kremlin claims to have seized villages in Donetsk region

Published: 14:56, 27 October 2024 | Updated: 15:35, 27 October 2024

This is the moment Russia claims to have struck a Ukrainian weapons depot filled with Western-supplies munitions.
Footage shared on social media shows the depot in Odesa consumed by a raging inferno, after Russia struck it with an Iskander-M missile.
Mini-explosions, presumed to be detonating munitions, can be heard going off as smoke fills the night sky over the port city.
The Colonel Cassad Telegram channel with 896,000 followers reported: 'There is a fire in Bugayevskaya [street] in Odesa after a strike.
'Judging by the footage, ammunition depots are burning, secondary detonation is heard…..
'Cartridges are flying in different directions.'

Major Ukrainian news outlet Unian said 'the cause of fire is unknown'.

The warehouse complex was near a key rail line. No details were given in initial reports about the type of ammunition allegedly in the warehouses.

So we can add Colonel Cassad to the list of sites that they pretend not to read every day. And although the comments aren't particularly interesting by themselves, The Mail is one of the few places that allows commentators from both sides.

And in another sign that the numbers aren't going how they hoped they would, Mediazona has come up with another way to count Russian deaths.
untitled38.jpg
I'm not sure how counting the obituaries as opposed to tracking actual named deaths is different to what they were doing before, but that, along with taking June 2023 (i.e. post Bakhmut and the New Year's Eve attack) has given them a chart that appears to be trending upwards.

A little over a year ago, in October 2023, the Russian army launched its assault on Avdiivka, a key city in Donbas. This was one of the first major battles where the Russian military began deploying soldiers en masse in what have come to be known as “meat grinder” assaults.

Before Avdiivka, only mercenaries from the notorious Wagner PMC, recruited from prison inmates, were sent on such attacks near Bakhmut. At Avdiivka, however, a significantly larger number of soldiers were assigned to these assault units.

These “meat grinder” assaults have inevitably influenced our losses count. Although we can’t say with absolute certainty how each man died (though we do encounter many soldiers whose position was listed as “assault trooper”, strongly suggesting these exact missions), the use of such tactics on the battlefield leads to substantial losses, which we have documented.

The graph below illustrates the growth in the number of obituaries since 2023 (not to be confused with the graph showing dates of death; this one refers to the dates when the obituaries were discovered on social networks such as VK, Russia’s most popular social media platform).

Obituaries? As in, "my 77 years old husband died due to cancer" will be counted in?

They are getting really desperate
Many Z channels have been tracking Ukrainian army obituaries, but only tally literal war funerals of active VSU servicemen with the returned on their shield crap Ukrainian press likes. Facebook, Local press, whatever, it's easy to filter actual combat deaths from some poor old fart finally kicked the bucket. That's what Mediazona used to do, but now since getting ordered to do the western washtrade of the truth some months ago; it's ANY male whom died because frankly they didnt have a choice.

Muh Russia suppresses the truth or whatever NAFO cope aside: Media Zona had no other way to go to pump up those numbers from rookie level.
