you dumb niggers, I agree that pixel art can look better with a crt filter, what I mean is that raw unfiltered pixel art can also look good, it's a pretty aesthetic and it's not always about perfectly replicating old graphics, sorry for not following reddiquette and enjoying games the wrong way

I PLAYED games on CRT screens as a kid, they still looked like pixels. CRT filters are little neat things that sometimes look hideous and overall look nothing like an actual crt due tot he lighting being wrong. This shit is basically clickbait fodder of OOOH YOU'VE BEEN PLAYING GAMES WRONG THEY AREN'T SUPPOSED TO LOOK PIXELLY!" no they very much aresupposed to fucking look pixelly. You look at anyone's video of a CRT you can see that the pixels are still visible. it's only the shitty CRT filters that "blur" shit like that from what I've seen in personal experience.

While CRT's are inherently blurrier than digital displays, don't forgot the choice of connect is more responsible for the blurring you see:

TL;DR - Thanks to the way it works, composite video (the most common type of interconnect during the CRT era, at least in the U.S) blurs the shit out of the video, which some devs took advantage of to create more colors than the hardware could with the famous Sonic waterfall shown using the composite distortion to create transparency effects.

Lower res video will do that, but yeah basically it's a case of "video lower res so slightly blurry on larger screen". Kind of the thing that upscaling jobs for ports fucks up sometimes because they only upscale the resolution and so effects that were made for box screens on that slightly blurry lower res end up looking really and I mean really fucky. This isn't touching lighting effects being fucked in ports either or the recent trend of entire fucking script changes to any re-released game the last few years to censor shit. The effect these people are looking for is achievable by just playing a game at a lower screen resolution instead of slapping a filter over it.

Tranny sperging is easy but just being low poly or uncanny isn’t woke alone. Celeste is easy to label a tranny game as it has a troon flag and themes but shit like Overkill and Cruelty Squad is harder without going on Dev Twitter. Put those games next to indie games with similar themes and styles like Hotline Miami or Postal: Brain Damaged. Even the in the know gamer would be hard pressed to pick out the troon game from gameplay alone. We can’t jaw line pixels on unless the devs allow us too and that makes it difficult compared to seeing or hearing trannies themselves.

Cruelty Squad and Overkill are just "boomer shooter" slop and if these two were not made by troons, these were made for troons.
Hotline Miami was made before tranny infestation and Postal: Brain Damaged is a boomer shooter made by Postal devs.

Anyone know of the game Webfishing? It's a game that mixes online co-op with fishing. It ain't made by a trans person but it does exude strong doses of "so retro", so it's no wonder why it's been blowing up recently. It's free on itch.io as it was apart of a Game Jam (made in 8 days apparently) before it got rehauled to Steam, now costing $5.

Does seem like a pretty harmless game. But I know with the "so retro" aesthetics and the fact you can customize your character to your liking, I know it's gonna be ripe with that certain crowd. Getting lots of Animal Crossing vibes from these, too—and I don't mean that in a good way.

It's literally animal crossing. No vibes. just Animal crossing with megaman legends/katamari damacy style cel shading. The grass is blatantly just the animal crossing grass texture or a remake of it, and the models all just looked like tweaked versions of the AC cat model.

Like I wouldnt' be surprised if it WAS just edits of this model given where the polygons are.

My suspicions proved to be correct. Cast this game into the lake from whence it came. No more shall we WebFish.

It could be funny to modify the game to replace the gay shit with actual funny shit since it runs on godot and can probably be easily edited.

The game has no shading, it uses completely solid colors. It seems to use a set palette for everything. The model shapes are most likely traced from AC’s however.
