Funny that the asexual person with insufficient rights is real.

What rights don't they have? I'd say they're functionally the same as incels, but I guess they're volcels. Maybe we should just bully asexuals by calling them volcels.

It's a rather cheap way to cram oneself into the queer umbrella because having no sex drive isn't that normal.

Though even in the most deeply homophobic/transphobic societies, it's not like people who never married or entered into sexless marriages were judged harshly or had their rights taken away.

People hate sluts and degenerates, they don't hate chaste people, even those who are abnormally chaste.

Apparently the arguments are:

- It’s not officially recognised as a sexual orientation.
This is pointless. Asexuals don’t marry or have sex, so the rights that LGB people fought for don’t apply.

- Conversion therapy is not outlawed.
As far as I’m aware, conversion therapy for asexuals is not a thing. I can’t see any parent being worried that their teenage daughter isn’t riding all around her.

- Asexuals face harassment.
This seems to be the same kind of sexual harassment that regular people face. People aren’t harassing them because of their sexuality.

- People don’t understand asexuals and portray them inaccurately.
No one cares.

When you look at any discussion around the subject, it basically comes down to “ordinary experiences that apply to normal people” and “shit that never happens.” Throw in the number of asexuals who actually do experience sexual attraction and even are sexually active, and it becomes clear that the term means nothing.

- Asexuals face harassment.
I hate this so much. Who doesn't face harassment. My answer to this has become:"You do weird stuff, most people think you're weird." It always applies. You're either okay with bucking the norm or you conform, to varying degrees. And it is weird to not want romantic or physical love. It is weird to be okay with foreveralone. People are sad for you because it's pitiable and pathetic, or numb to the fact that you're in the throes of a wild addiction to food, and must help yourself. Or just twist "rejected" into "doesn't want those sex sour grapes anyway", aka, heckin' valid aces.

Asexuals are just people who need to understand that humans aren't all desperately horny and ready to fuck with anyone and everyone 24/7. Libidos come in a lot of different types but they're all more or less considered normal, whether you only want to have sex once a month or you want to fuck once a day every day. Normalise not wanting to breed like rabbits or having a body count in the hundreds.
It doesn't make you asexual, it just mean your libido is borked and you might have a depression.

We live in a hypersexualized society so people feel the need to seek justification for not being sex-obsessed and not watching porn. Also psychiatric drugs.
