Kinda stupid to use up a whole day to have Vance and Trump talk in a state you will never win, no matter how they try to spin it.
The left has run on shaming and marginalizing conservatives for years; a massive campaign event on enemy territory is the way to fight it. It makes supporters feel unified, optimistic, and emboldened. The energy attracts interest and draws in the curious and indifferent. Meanwhile, dysfunction on the left is increased: unhinged aggression, panic attacks, and depressive torpor.

A rally in MSG is a great idea and it has national impact but I agree it’s boring. Trump is leading and it’s close to election day so better not to be risky.

Having been in NYC during the 2016 election (including at the Trump victory area in front of the Midtown Hilton, before he officially won the election) it's most shocking to see the difference in how public New Yorkers can be with their support of Trump. If you went around wearing a MAGA hat in NYC at that time, you'd be spit on, have your hat taken, and be generally mistreated. A number of the people at the Trump victory area were...eccentric types. You know, the kind of person to wear an American flag-styled pinstripe suit, a cowboy hat, and aviator shades in the evening. Now there are tens of thousands in Manhattan who feel totally safe going around in Trump gear.

The fellow travelers in the media and politics will pooh-pooh Trump at MSG because it probably won't affect anything electorally. But psychologically, it's very meaningful and shows how much the country has changed due to Trump.
I truly think him almost getting JFK’d turned the tide of this cycle.

Or if all of that is tl;dr for you: when someone makes a claim, but it fails to stand up to the Socratic method.
Or to clarify using meaningful language: When someone makes inflammatory and baseless claims and gets blowback that points out the flaws in their reasoning, and the original person decides to run away from the discussion instead of justifying and explaining their claims.
