I always wonder what Phil's endgame is, so to speak. His entire life just seems to be a parade of one bad choice after another, with him trying to collect as many marginalized identities as he can to impress... other weirdos on the internet? I know, I know... atismu and all, but I can't help but wonder what he might have been if he hadn't gotten into the whole identity politics bullshit.
His tattoos kind of tie in with that. They're all either horrible, childish doodles, or random political shit that won't be remembered 5-10 years from now, or sudden interests like his bicycles or maps of South America. They're all so random and impulsive; it's like he couldn't wait a few months to think them over, he had to get them now, now, NOW to convey whatever message or persona he thought he'd present to the world that day.
I mean, if he had ever actually ridden a bicycle, getting a single bike related tattoo would be one thing. But getting tattoos of random bike paraphernalia just to fill up space is insane. When all this trans crap is no longer popular or trendy, will Phil regret it or will he even remember why he got those tattoos in the first place?
