I get what you're saying, and there are a few lolcows who if they were in the same position I'd agree that this kind of leak would be underhanded, but this isn't the same thing as opportunistically ruining a flawed but innocent target for clout. This is simply a practical reinforcement of Nick's worst qualities, that he's a prickly, passive-aggressive, manipulative and habitual liar who is incapable of accepting responsibility despite being a married man with children and building up this personality of himself as a Godly man of principles and faith. The reason this reinforcing is important, at least for his thread's benefit is that he is fundamentally dishonest about who he is. This isn't a man baring his soul in private, this is a narcissist compelled by his own ego to make excuses for his appalling behavior, and to a person he's already punished for questioning his conduct. In terms of learning something new, yes, he acknowledged for the first time that he went to Hedonism II, and knowing more about and his attitude towards it gives additional context in what has been a spectacular and still somewhat inexplicable fall from grace. I remember seeing clips of it circulating online when I was involved in anime circles. Yes, I know I am a big nerd. Anyways, it was infamous at the time for being the degenerate anime of the season but with rape scenes.
