There's some deep lore here. After the balldo saga, there's been a few splinter communities that have broken off into their own thing. Many of the splinters were originally focused on vitreal towards Nick, but are now more or less kiwifarms lite, as it's hard to hate something you no longer really care for (keep in mind these are ex-fans). From what I've seen, most splinters are more active than both Nick's locals and Nick's discord. What people are seeing are the predicted long term consequences of Nick's "weight loss" plan from earlier in 2024. At around maybe 6'2 and over 200 pounds, Nick decided he was morbidly obese and set about losing weight by simply not eating. He explained how smart that was at length to all the dumb nerds and as well how superior he was to ordinary humans. His plan was to shed weight down to his ultra-skinny nerd college weight. Then after all the weight was gone, he would go to the gym and put on pure muscle to replace it.

Nick was also convinced that what people find really attractive in adult men is them being ultra skinny. Men and women constantly told Nick how pretty he was even before the weight loss. So everyone but nerds would understand that Nick knows a fair bit about all this.

By his own account, he eventually drove his weight down to around 145 pounds. The reality was of course that he was doing heavy coke and getting most of his calorie intake through alcohol consumption. That as a man in his 40s, he had developed something like the eating disorders of a teenage girl.

The consequences of his weight was were that he lost a fair portion of his adult muscle mass and probably risked organ failure through malnutrition along the way. He never had that much body fat to lose in the first place and at his age, he was losing things in his body that he would not be able to easily add back and that honestly it wasn't a good idea to get rid of.

So Nick reduced himself by the spring of this year to a sort of skeleton being. He has in a real sense the body of an old man. Much good and essential body muscle is now gone. For example the muscle that would maintain his posture. If he is off the coke and alcohol, he would probably start gaining weight again. But mostly gain it as flab around his middle. You can see the long-term awfulness of what he has done to himself in his new body proportions in the photo and his posture.
