Careercow Donald J Trump - 45th/47th President of the USA, convicted felon, Epstein bro, Putin simp, serial liar, sore loser, cheat and the Chris-Chan of Presidents. THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL DEBATE THREAD.

Important question, if Trump wins this election does that mean this thread dies?
If he gets elected, he’s going to have a hell of a time filling up his cabinet. There’s no shortage of people willing to stab him in the back (see: John Bolton) but he’s going to find it really difficult to fill it up with the people he wants. Recall that in many cases throughout his first term, key positions were left vacant for months, only to be filled by literally whos that only last a few months before leaving. This second term is not going to be a good one. He’s going to be even less effective than in his first term if that’s even possible.

Fuck, I think 90% of the people supporting Trump are doing so because "food and gas are too expensive." There are tons of signs that say "make gas and food affordable again." I mean, yeah that shit sucks. I drive for a living and luckily I don't currently pay for my own fuel, but I did up until recently and it sucked balls. And my grocery bill has gone up about $100 a week in the last few years. But I'm not stupid enough to think that the president can just fix inflation. These people have no understanding of economics.
That is an interesting trait of Trump cultists though - the ones that think an incumbent government has direct control over people's circumstances.
All they can do is make and implement policy - and it doesn't necessarily mean that hard times are due to incompetence / malicious decision-making, or that good times imply the converse.

The inflation is mostly, if not entirely, due to the supply shocks invoved with recovering from the pandemic - and Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent impact on global oil supplies, which would have happened regardless of who was in office.

Those people who are retarded and think that Trump would have been able to stop the invasion should be aware that his plan was to tell Putin "Don't you do that Putin! Don't do it!" (Biden tried a variant of this, but it didn't work for him for some reason).
As though that murderous dictator wouldn't have just gone "LOL! LMAO even" and Slav spam Ukraine regardless. Then Trump would seethe for a bit and then go "He mustn't have understood me, because we're good friends."

I really wonder where all the MAGAs who've made it their entire personality will go once Trump croaks in the near future.
Maybe to the gay bar to play grab-ass and resurrect the Sturmabteilung.
But I'm not stupid enough to think that the president can just fix inflation. These people have no understanding of economics.
Nothing goes in a straight line but as Max Keiser says, "you can't taper a Ponzi."

I have to assume that their internal polling has them mountains ahead so they literally do not think they can lose.
Which is strange because my biggest problem with Kamala is she's done nothing to tell me why she should be president other than that Donald Trump should not. But Trump has done the exact same thing with some vague Project 2025 ideas. I want candidates to not be so polarized that they have to actually sell themselves and not "I'm not the other guy."
Harris has done a lot to say why you should vote for her. She's got policy ideas

But then we'd be stuck with Vance, who is genuinely retarded. Trump's a con artist telling his dipshit followers what they want to hear. Vance actually believes that women were put out on earth to make babies and that brown people are sneaking into the country to eat our dogs.
To be fair he didn't play a blue deck during Urza Block so I have to give him credit for that.

Monetary expansion is the root problem, $7 trillion was created during COVID to basically inflate asset prices. You can see it in the 1:1 increase in housing prices during the same period. Inflation would be a lot worse if monetary velocity hadn't stayed depressed, but it has. That's also why Japan has ongoing deflation despite continuous monetary expansion and deficit spending.

As we've all noted, this isn't something the President has any control over. The Federal Reserve system is completely independent of the executive branch.

The number of people in this country who think the President has some magical button they can push to fix literally anything they dislike or complain about BUT CHOOSE NOT TO (ie - Biden gas prices) is way too high. I blame the schools in not bothering to effectively teach civics anymore. Grown ass people in the USA think whoever is elected president is some magical being with the ultimate power.

I'm not sure where you're looking, but it sounds like you're not. I hear plenty of commercials talking about middle class tax cuts, a $25000 tax credit for first time home buyers, protection of women's rights, even support for Israel, etc. Might say something about your information gathering habits.

I agree. I'm fucking sick of hearing about what Harris's ideas are because they've been shoved in my earholes and eyeholes for the last 60 days on the radio, TV and unskippable youtube ads.

At this point, both candidates have saturated their message and if you don't know what they claim they're about, you're actively choosing not to. Trump included. Although to his credit, his message has never wavered. It's the same 4-5 talking points over and over again no matter what the question or venue.

And two of those points are always "Immigrants are bad" and "Harris is a Marxist"

I've found that the idea that Harris doesn't put out any policy is a good metric for assessing whether someone is worth listening to. If they say that, they either don't pay any attention beyond the loudest retard (despite claims to being politically aware) or are just bad faith Trump cultists. Can I use my birthday wish for a Heaven's Gate-style end to the Trump cult after Harris' inauguration? They even have their own shoes and can wash it down with McDonald's cokes.

You misunderstood. Someone tried to make a thread prior to him winning in 2016, but Null was voting for him then and locked it. In 2020, Null let this one exist (go look at the first post fam, it’s from right after he lost) because Trump was such a cuck about losing.

Does anyone else remember this site in 2015-2016? It was Trump central.

So anyway, to answer your question, no. Maybe when he dies it’ll be closed but he’s got decades of lolcow behavior to be laughed at.
I mean that was a lot of places on the internet, and while Trump had lolcow traits back then he was able to mask it well to many especially with these factors that made him look cooler than he is:

1. Trump had a more populist campaign where he said things that appealed to normies and even some left wing people. Trump also genuinely came across as a very funny guy back then with good comedic timing and more politically savvy.

2. Every other politician at the time didn't know how to handle him and came across as clowns or out of touch (See the 2016 Republican Primaries where everyone came across as a wimp and Hillary who wagged her finger telling people not to vote Trump for saying curse words)

3. Like point 2, but more specifically Hillary Clinton ran a god awful campaign that was incredibly narcissistic, cringeworthy, and out of touch where she felt entitled to the Presidency and kept reminding people she had a vagina while not even bothering to campaign in some states. That and she had decades of scandal to her name.

4. 2015-2016 culturally was the peak of cringe for SJW and politically correct ideology where more people got offended over every little thing.

Of course you may disagree, but Trump managed to really mask the stench of being a lolcow really well back then, I think becoming President made him more of a cow because he was out of his depth.

Putting a narcissist into one of, if not the, highest positions of power in the world then taking it away from him definitely brought out his lolcow traits. Up until that point he hadn't experienced that type of damage to his ego. Even with his bankruptcies, failed businesses, failed lolsuits, and failed casinos, he was never removed from being the rich and famous business man. After 2020, he couldn't say he was the current president because that was taken from him and something snapped in him as a result.

No one will ever be able to convince me otherwise that Trump winning was, in part, a direct result of rejecting the GamerGate bullshit from the prior couple years. Shit was INSUFFERABLE. (and maybe might have influenced my 2016 vote as well)

I’ll disagree only because I grew up in the tristate area. We’ve known he’s a cow for a looooong time. Lots of stuff in the OP predates the election. It’s just no one cares about him back then.

>Be Trump
>Have a Press Conference at 10am
>Be an hour and 20 minutes late
>The Press Conference is at his own house
>Finally arrive
>Its just another whinefest

2016 was lightning in a bottle.
