I guess I'm a rice bucket evangelist now. After half a dozen sessions it's notably decreased my hand pain doing heavy deadlifts, highly recommended.
A couple of the machines in my gym have a little 5LB C-shaped weight that you can plop over one of the stack guiderails to add weight inbetween the increments. There's this one dude (coincidentally also Indian) who will run around the gym collecting all of them and stack them like they were a totem pole on the pec fly machine and leave them there afterwards. I'd just laugh and ignore it if the weights didn't periodically fall behind the stack and jam it.Not being able to adjust like that is kind of OCD.
