You can still see the difference, though. Webfishing is even further simplified than animal crossing's art. I'm going to compare to New Horizons which released just a couple years ago, but there's not too much differentiating it from earlier titles style wise other than having better graphics.

There's something clearly missing, actual detail in the textures rather than just flat colors. It looks like the art in Webfishing could've and might have been put together in Microsoft Paint, and the default :3 face looks clearly hand drawn and sloppy. You can feel the Twitter furfag dripping from these screenshots.
